I’m sure the poster you are aiming your post at can defend himself but what is it exactly you’re looking for? A Latics fan to say that we have a fair weather and fickle section of our fanbase that can’t wait to see Chelsea/Liverpool etc at the DW but don’t find Rotherham as appealing? What do you think that the club could do about it other than accept the fact that the Wigan public are a fairly apathetic lot that probably wouldn’t turn up if it was free entry with a free pie and pint?

No. The thread was started by a latics fan, I offered my opinion as to why the ST take-up has dropped dramatically, then suddenly the rugby-hating fraternity waded in with their standard “slag off rugby/mutty when they haven’t anything better to say” comments.

Bicky is a tool – full stop. But I would have thought the likes of Griff and fatboy would be a bit more grown up than that, and would have contributed to the threat in a more constructive way.

Has much has me and mutty don’t get on I don’t think that is helpful in any way and should be removed

Whatever it was that was written – thanks for your comment.

EDIT – Abuse of that nature to other users is not acceptable.

I take it his 4th post on the subject was as worthwhile as his other 3….

this is a football site , please take your conversation about rugby to a rugby site thank you
no wonder this site is dying on its feet ,it needs sorting

You’ve made three posts on this thread and not a single one has been on your thoughts on WAFC’s plummeting attendances.

Try to make your 4th post on this thread worthwhile eh…

Not really – your attendances have zero impact on my life.

There is plenty of bullshit spouted on this site, but that’s right up there with the best of it[/quote]

How about writing a book on where the lost 8000 have gone over the last 3 years?

Not really – your attendances have zero impact on my life. However, if I was the Chief Exec at the DW, I’d be pretty scared:

    Reading 12174 (14609) – Down 17%
    Blackpool 12113 (19137) – Down 37%
    Birmingham (14996)

ST Sales approx 7000 (approx 11000) – Down approx 36%

Admitedly the Blackpool attendance last season was artificially inflated by their 4000 travelling support, but even deducting that gives a drop of 20%.

But as “35yrsWAFCbutdoesntgomuchthesedays” says, I’m not obsessed with attendances!

Its hardly surprising – someone on here suggested that ST sales were at the 7,000 level.

Last season’s sales were based on a first European adventure being included, as well as the feel-good factor from the FA Cup win.

This season, the prices were raised, there are 3 fewer games for a ST, and the harsh reality of 2nd tier football is starting to come home, as the last of the cup-winners reach the end of their contracts and start to leave for bigger and better things.

Over 2500 down on the game last April at the DW.

Is everyone on holiday or what?

Got that hook out yet?

My hook caught a chub and a couple of old trouts thanks very much. Maybe I should teach Arky about how to cast and catch! :cheer:

Maybe after t’match wi can tek our seats wi,us !
Stop any Fat Eggs abusing them !

Every ST holder could do just that and it would still leave around 18,000 seats available.

Why, what match was on when I posted?

None – that was the other clown. You just got the wrong venue!

Good crowd for a friendly match at Leigh I thought

Tezza & Thiry whatever (posting on here during the middle of the match) clearly aren’t the super-fans they claim to be. ;)

I know, but the top top sides would have all signed up to lucrative overseas tours a long time ago. If you want a fixture, you then get left with those clubs that the far east/USA/middle east countries dont care about.

Even Sunderland have games in Portugal against top European sides, so we cant help you out!

in reply to: Home friendlies #131955

Not forgetting there will be three less European fixtures this season.

A home friendly against a top side should be part of the pre-season. Maybe there’s still time to see if Burnley, QPR or Hull City fancy sending an XI over before their season starts.

You do know that EVERYBODY associated with Wigan Athetic who has an ounce of intelligence, and knows of you, thinks you’re an absolute lunatic, don’t you?

And those that aren’t associated just think you’re a cock.
