If you look at the other stats page – there one from 05-09 is interesting. He spent loads getting us to the Prem but has since stopped. Raking it in now he is.
why is gerrard a diving kangaroo?The same reason Hugo is, the same reason Scharner scored using his hands at Totenham. The same reason Rooney dived at the weekend. The same reason Ronaldo used to dive everyweek. The same reason Drogba falls over like he’s been shot.
Parakeet,I would have pointed out that “Roddy” as you put him would have dived. The reason I do not attend football anymore is for the sheer amount of cheating going on.
I watch both teams, and make no substitute for diving if it’s my own.
Not everybody has that fickle football supporter view. ;)
Not everybody is correct, like me. Go watch it again, it’s clearly a penalty. There would be OUTRAGE on this board if a decision like that went against the tics.

1) With Martinez as manager your season has been exceptionally inconsistent, how much of a problem is this for you guys when your getting wins at home against the big teams, namely Chelsea but losing against the little teams, namely Birmingham?It has been very inconsistant which is a massive dissapointment to all of us consider our excellent first game on the season. It is a hugr problem for the team one which Bobby needs to sort out asap.
2) Heskey’s left, Valencia’s left. Gomez, Rodallega, Scotland etc… have arrived, who’s impressed you the most and why?Gomez has been a sensation in midfield tbh but I’ve been most impressed with Rodders, if only Bobby would place him upfront consistantly I think we would be higher up in the league. Without him in my opinion we wouldn’t be a high in the league as we are.
3) On the other side of that coin, who’s been your most dissapointing player of the season?No doubt my dissapointment of the season has been Scotland. Although he was from the Championship I expected much better of him. He has still yet to score and seems to have become a scapegoat for many Wigan fans, although alot of the time I think he deserves it.
4) What sort of team can we be expecting to face when the teams line-up tomorrow night?It’s most likely Bobby will keep to what he thinks is best. Which is a 4-5-1 formation. Kirkland in the net if he is injury free, back four consisting of Figs,Bramble,Boyce and Melchiot. The midfield will consist of Rodders on the left cutting in on his favoured foot with N’Zogbia doing the same from the opposite side. Scharner,Gomez and Diame through the middle. With Scotland most likely doing FA up front on his own. :lol:
5) So, moving onto your season; what’s your hopes and where do you actually believe you will finishIf the boss can sort out the inconsistancy we could easily finish in the top half, we have a better squad than Birmingham and the are join on points with you. If doesn’t sort this inconsistancy out I can see us slipping towards relegation but I don’t think we have a chance of actually getting relegated because the are plenty teams than are easily worse than us. Eg Pompey etc etc.
6) I’m going to steal this one from last years Spyin’ Kop; Taking one player from our defence, midfield and attack which three Liverpool players would you like to see sign for Wigan tomorrow if money was no option and Why?I’m going to cheat a little, I would have Reina over Kirkland any day of the week because I don’t really rate Chris. I’d snap up Johnson in a second as I think one of the major problems with our defence atm is our ‘captain’ Melchiot. Glen Johnson is easily the best RB in the prem atm and soon will be one of the best in the world. He is up there atm already tbh. From midfield and strikers it’s quite obvious who would get picked. If Gerrard was to show the passion for Wigan like he does for Liverpool he would be a GREAT addition to the squad because of the range of his abilities. Of course from the strikers I would pick Torres ( Have you actually got any other good strikers? :lol: ) , behind Drogba he is the best striker in the Prem atm.
7) If you’ve seen Liverpool at all this season, what one Wigan Athletic player do you think would bring some improvement to our team?Easy decision imo, Rodders would be a good addition for Liverpool, it seems that without Torres, Liverpool don’t know how to score. If Rodders was to get the same service as Torres recieves he would bag plenty. He can score screamers from the edge of the box aswell as poach from inside the area.
8) 15th and 18th in the form league suggests both are teams are playing pretty poorly at the moment, who do you think will come out on top tomorrow evening?Even though Liverpool are in a slump, I think that tomorrow with a fit Gerrard and a fit Torres you won’t have a problem taking all three points.
9) Finally, I have to mention it, Figueroa’s goal… Goal of the season?Definately.
To put it simply , he didn’t dive.
If our love child Rodders had done EXACTLY the same thing, say away at Liverpool, you’d all be crying penalty, bias,bias against small clubs,refs hate us.

According to the teletext he is resurrecting his career with us?Has he ever played for us and if not where is he coming from.
By all accounts he sounds like a proper walking wounded…….1) Struggled to make the first team or even the bench at times at Man U, despite only being 29 years of age and having played in the prem or the top leagues in europe for over 10 years.He’s made 20ish appearances this season for United already, we’re only just coming up to Christmas , not bad really considering how ‘injury prone’ he is.
2) Struggled to make the first 11 at Man U on a regular basis despite costing them nigh on £100 grand a week in wages.100 Grand a week? We’ve you got this from? Most likely he is on a pay as he plays basis as he has struggled with injurys before. They can afford to pay more as it’s cost them nothing to buy him in the first place.
3) Struggled to make the first 11 at Man U on a regular basis despite united going through a transition of losing quality players either through transfers, injuries or simply being past their sell by date..Losing quality players? They lost one through Ronaldo. Admittedly the best place in the world at the time but to say they are going through a transitional phase is rubbish, they are still 2nd? in the league only 3? points behind Chelsea.
4) Struggled to make the first 11 at Man U on a regular basis despite a young unknown Equadorian player from Wigan making more appearances for them than any other player in the squad.A young unknown Ecuadorian* player who United splashed out £15million for who plays a completely different position to own and in the position were they lost their only player.
5) When given the chance to play he looks like a third division player at best sqaundering chance after chance in the first 10 matches he played and looking 10 yards slower than he was 5 years ago..Of course he looks slower than he did in the past you donk. That’s what happens when you hit a certain age, you get slower not quicker. I’d have him at Wigan in a shot.
Suddenly he gets a hat trick against a team that wouldn’t hold its own in the scottish second division and its dave whelan said this, dave whelan said that.Yeh of course, he scored a hat trick when surrounded by mostly non first team members, crap that. O and btw Wolfsburg won the German league last year, they would beat about 80% of they clubs in our league and come 4th/5th overall.
Dave whelan was bang on, Owen was and is not worth the money he still attracts. He’s more interested in his horses than pulling a gut out for his team. :roll:He may well not be worth 100k but to be on a pay as you play basis he is more than worth the money and as I said before, I’d have at Wigan in shot. Owen or Scotland, let me think. Don’t even need to think about it tbh.
