My total honest view was that we were very very poor. Looked as though we lacked authority at the back and evidently missed Alcaraz. The beginning of the game was cagey but we strung together alot of possession. Their goal killed us and if it wasn’t for Al Habsi we could have fallen further behind early on. For all the goals we were poor defensively but the worse decision for me was that no-one else wanted to take the penalty and was left to Boselli having come on as a sub a minute before. Felt sorry for him he didn’t look confident and is a striker with no confidence and the miss again won’t do him any good whatsoever.
Where do we go from here? Well stoke is now a must win in my book. I think as someone else has already alluded to that Cleverley and Gomez should not be in the same team, I agree with that. I would have Cleverley playing a more central role and Moses in place of Gomez. I think maybe we could do with playing the strikers in the reserves, get them sharper in front of goal.
Our problems stem, I think, from the heavy defeats we have suffered. We concentrate more on not conceding rather than scoring which I don’t think we can do, especially with the 451 or 433 system whichever way you look at it. I would prefer to see Diame and Cleverley push on in the midfield with Thomas the deep lying central midfielder. We badly miss the youthful and harrassing McCarthy and the sooner he returns the better.
As fans we have seen what we are capable of, eg at White Hart Lane. I having lost all hope or optimism but I have to say that the performance today shocked me. Looking forward to the quarter final and a big game on saturday.possession doesnt win games, goals do, 11 all season nuff said
Agree with that James, the amount of articles on here that have not looked at the performance but seen the scoreline and straight away jump on the Martinez out bandwagon. Only the other week we were going in the right direction according to these idiots.The performance was shit, didnt want this clown in the first place, out of his depth, and his backroom staff speaks volumes, even the guys on soccer sat said we were very poor, and lastly 11 goals in the prem forgot how many we have conceded

Only positive from today. Once and for all proven that this manger hasn’t a clue. People keep saying there are 3 worse teams than us. Who are they?hopefully one step closer to the exit, i dont think the team aint that bad given the right tactics, we could pull away, but not with this manager in charge, anybody else not connected with the club would have been shown the door weeks ago
