Dave Whelan will not sack Martinez and I will confidently predict that he will put the club up for sale this summer, whether anyone wants to take it on is a different matter,I have said that for a couple of seasons now, but we need to be in the prem for someone to buy or we could end up with a kenyon or gage again
Not sure it’s a case of him not having a clue, but there is probably more an element of “who does this bit of a kid think he is?” going on.To answer the original question, I don’t think he ever had the dressing room and yes, a stronger back-room staff would help.
Still no excuse for players not putting in a tackle all night and swanning around (Scharner) doing nothing. Watching a 12-year old full back waltz past 4 stationary Wigan defenders was laughable. I really don’t mind them being sh**, but not trying is inexcusable.

I think so, but at the end the day the backroom staff hasnt helped, how do you expect the likes of nzogbia, scharner melchiot to name a few take orders from the likes of jones and barrow, it shouldnt happen but it does even in the work place, you cant take orders of someone who hasnt a clue.
Yes we all know what whelan as done, and we all know how much money he has got back from the club, but it still doesnt mean we have to put up with the manager who is clueless, if that kind of manager was at whelans factory he would have been sacked by now, bloody hutchins got sacked for less, and we didnt look back, i just feel its time martinez went, just like ince at blackburn they are not up to managing a prem club, I dread to think of the players that are going to go in jan and the players martinez is going to bring in, Just feel more heavy defeats coming in 2010,

we will seeI saw Springfield park. Our crowds were awful. Think we averaged about 3,500 in our 1996 3rd div Championship season……then had 6,000+ on the day we clinched it. Thing is, even in the days of 2,000 crowds, it was a lot more ‘partisan’ than now, with 20,000 on. Definitely.Reading promotion game at JJB, we had 19,000 on, yet we had averaged about 12,500 all season before hand. I always remember the party with the players in Walkabout, after we bumped into Matt McCann and he said “Hey lads, the players are heading to Walkabout. Are you coming?”. Early on, it was great. Then all the nobs in town jumped on the bandwagon. A man and woman, fully decked out in all Latics gear…..they COULD have been ‘Mr and Mr’s Wigan Athletic’, faces painted, the lot came in. I heard the Woman say to her husband “Which ones Jason Roberts? Which ones Alan Mahon?” With that, I went home. Says it all.
Every game, I do wonder about the people around me ‘Will they still be here if we go down?’
