he decided not to for reasons unknown

I guess we will never know but if I were to start guessing it would be along the lines of.

More money, bigger wage budget, bigger transfer budget, bigger crowds, one of the worlds best youth training facilities, more appreciative message boards, A new challenge, better players to implement his demanding style of play, more club staff, higher wage budget for backroom staff such as a team of data analysts, bigger scouting network, a good influx of young talent to pick from each year.

Just to name a few things like.
But how much silverware have they won in there last 10-15 seasons? I’ll name one team that has won more than them. B)
I can see him winning the FA Cup again with them in the next 2-3 seasons.

….If you consider the King James Bible for what it is including the popular establishment of the Church of England and its authenticity vs the teachings of Islam then you have to take into account that it is quite possibly the most authentic and historically accurate of all the religions.

I don’t see how you can describe any religion as authentic and historically accurate. They are all based on myths and hearsay.
I’m not, I am saying its probably the best of a bad bunch in terms of possibly not being tampered with over many many years.

The Christian bible as we know today in the most popular form being the king james bible was the third translation into the English Language.

It followed Henry the VIII’s previous translation and was produced from inside the Church of England which in fact is a religion made to suit the needs of a king as he saw fit.

In my opinion historically the Church of England and definitely Christianity could be described as the most corrupt organisation in the history of the world.

Its one that I don’t trust with the word of god (if it ever existed).

If I had to summarise my own spiritual beliefs I would say that I honestly have not got a clue. I think there is something out there beyond human comprehension that does not add up to an overbearing guy in flip flops giving us a list of do’s and dont’s.

I would love to know how everything came to be and what the point is of everything but unfortunately I do not think I will find the answers I seek in any propagandist religious text.

Mohammed is actually the most popular name in the world never mind London.

Allah is just the Arabic word for God but I am not sure if you can call the UK a country of god anymore as I believe it probably holds one of the largest atheist populations in the world.

If not atheist certainly apathetic towards the rituals of religion.

It is one of the biggest misconceptions that many non-muslims have about Islam in that they worship a different god to Christians or Jews.

As I said Allah is just the Arabic word for God.

In fact Jesus has a large part in the quran as one of the prophets of Islam where as in the King James Bible he is presented as the son of god.

Islam, Christianity and Judaism stem from the same history and place.

The message just went in different directions through points in time in the largest game of Chinese whispers in history.

If you consider the King James Bible for what it is including the popular establishment of the Church of England and its authenticity vs the teachings of Islam then you have to take into account that it is quite possibly the most authentic and historically accurate of all the religions.

    A fair assessment.

I thought there were good and bad points to our play but when you consider that was against the Premier League champions then there is more than enough good points to build on going into the season.

A record hammering could of left us feeling completely different.

People have previously criticised Martinez on this board for being too negative in his chosen styles of play for us.

I saw things completely different in that we were constantly pressed high up the pitch and on the attack when in possession but we were not prepared to waste the possession on a half chance something might come off.

I think the comments accusing of negativity in our play were down to the fact generally Wiganer’s don’t like passing unless it is going forward where as I see the insisted possession as a positive rather than a negative showing trust in our players abilities to do so rather than playing schoolboy football and hoping for the best.

From what I can gather up to now Coyle may be prepared to set up a team in a more defensive manner if he thinks they post a greater attacking threat e.g. Man Utd.

However I think we will play a very attacking formation for the majority of the season while trying to keep a standard back four in place behind the midfield and attack rather than having attacking full backs in a back four or five like under Martinez.

I can’t disagree with any of that – even the bit where you reminded me about your comments about Latics attractiveness as a Championship club this season which I strongly disagreed with

Thanks for admitting you were wrong.

And that you are in agreement with the point I was making in the first place.

I will be happy to clear up any future posts that you may struggle to understand ;)

Do your sentiments extend to Kone, Di Santo, Figeuroa & Alcaraz Runcorn?

I personally think the Everton job was too good an opportunity to turn down and he would of been doing himself a dishonour not to take it.

Had he joined the likes of Stoke lets say then I could possibly come round to your way of thinking but the Everton job is one that the likes of Redknapp, Mark Hughes, Sam Allardyce and other wannabe big time managers would jump at the chance to have.

No bad feelings from me just looking forward to the season ahead under Coyle.

    Signed for Werder Bremen today.

    Good luck to him.

This year will be a welcome break.

But hand on heart I think we deserve to be in the premier league with the way the club goes about its business and some of the quality of football we have produced over the past 8 years.

So while a welcome break it is I do want to be back to where we belong riding that fat daddy cash cow.

You sound like a Geordie/West Ham/A.N. Other FC there Salford going on that they deserve to be in the top flight coz of crowds, history etc..

Latics deserve to be in the Championship at present – nowt more ;)
Not the point I was making but you have obviously completely missed that as you were so eager to nitpick at anything you can find as per usual.
If you’re going to be so touchy then I suggest picking your words more carefully coz there are only so many ways that you can read “we deserve to be in the premier league” & to get “back where we belong” ;)
As it happens I agree with the what (I think) was the sentiment at the end of your original post that I’m going to enjoy this break from the eternal struggle of the premier league but that ultimately I want to see Latics back in there & to stay there – if for nowt else than I need my hours worth of highlights on Football First to watch every weekend rather than 2 minutes on the Beebs’s Football league Show. Or stop reffing & go to watch more games
Cutting quotes to suit your nitpicking is all good and well but I shall clarify my point to hopefully ease your pedantic stance.

I think over an 8 year period we proved to ourselves and everyone else this club can operate at the top level.

While we may never have the clout to compete with the big boys we showed the world that with a sensible business plan and a more inventive scouting system you can hold your own.

I think our biggest strength was always our business plan in place by Whelan etc.

When it came to the end of the season while not being able to flirt millions on overpriced flops we were always able to strengthen.

When a new manager came in we were always in a position to offer him a reasonable transfer budget to mold the team to their style of play within reason.

All of this good management of the club has led to a position where we have dropped out the PL but have been in a position to take our pick of players available to this level of football within reason.

Despite your pedantic quaffs when I previously suggested we were the most attractive club in the championship to play for minus any QPR silly money deals I would say our activity in the transfer market backs up the above and my previous statement.

We are in a great position to return to the PL at first time of asking and would keep our squad over the likes of QPR and Reading although with the amount of dodgy incomings at Watford they could become our biggest competitor.

All in all it doesn’t take Plato to tell you we deserved to be relegated last season on the amount of points we achieved over the season but the point I am making is there is nothing to stop us going back up and staying there for another 8 years.

I think we are a cut above everyone in this league bar QPR, Reading and maybe Watford if they gel which also goes to show the gap widening between the Premier League season on season and why we want to get back on that cash cow ASAP.

I was genuinely disappointed we didn’t try to play it from the back more as a lot of Carson’s kicks were picked up by red shirts.

Ah well I guess you don’t realise how much you miss some things until they are gone.
