The question still needs to be answered though – has Visa ageed to sign for us and who are his current club.
He is only a youngster, about 13 years old, so we must think him a good prospect.

Why else would he leave Honduras for Wigan?
You’ve got to remember the extreme violence, the drug culture, dire poverty and lack of opportunity.
It all makes Honduras look a much better option.

They ought to care now.
They will care when they are held responsible for a serious injury or, worse still, corporate manslaughter.
An individual isn’t held responsible for corporate manslaughter. A clue is in the word ‘corporate’[/quote]
No. Individuals can be held responsible under the doctrine of identification if the failing can be imputed to what is termed a “controlling mind”. For Latics that is likely to be determined to be the Chief Executive, Stadium Manager or the Safety Officer, whose roles involve day to day management of procedures within the stadium.

The legal position

Aceface said “One thing we can do is stop putting threads on forums about it”
No – perhaps we need to profile the consequences highly to ensure these idiots read this factsheet from the Football Supporters Federation. Particularly that courts view this seriously and have issued custodial sentences (“jail” for those hard of understanding, as the carriers of these things are) for people even with previous clean records. The record will also show on Criminal Records checks which will limit future job prospects and visas to US etc.
It is NOT just an innocent laugh.
I would like to imagine they have no intention of harming anybody
“Oh – I never thought that would happen. I didn’t mean it. What? It’s too late now? Someone has been seriously injured? It wasn’t my fault….”
I don’t know what sort of risks are involved with them as I’ve never seen one in person
Then why are you commenting against people who have and who, like me, view them as dangerous. The club view them as dangerous too, which is why they are banned in grounds. I don’t care there are no restrictions about buying them – that’s a separate discussion – but there ARE restrictions about bringing them into football grounds. It’s illegal. No debate.
And I’m with Standish on this about them being lobbed. That’s exactly what happened at Ashton Town the other week which caused a fracas with the players and club officials.
The use of them in football grounds is indefensible, and I’m surprised you are trying to defend it.
wouldnt be surprised now its come out if true that is , steve bruce gets figgy to get garcia to go to hull instead
just a thought likeAs a rival for his left back position?
“Back of the Net is a surprisingly funny football blog”
Hmm. Not in my eyes.
Could get us into trouble with UEFA if they decide to do it at Europa League games
I thought the first version sounded much better :)
(You know you can just “edit” your original post?)
As only the West Stand will be open I can’t see any reason why not.
I’ll be going expecting to pay on the day.
Is a trip to Prague possible?Sparta Prague drew 2-2 at home to Hacken of Sweden in the 2nd Qualifying Round with the second leg tomorrow.
The other two Czech teams in the Europa League do not play in Prague – Slovan Liberec are 2-1 down to Skonto Riga in the 2nd Qual Rd and Jablonec join in the next round.
The Champions League entrants are Viktoria Plzen, so even if they get far enough in the CL to gain a place in the Europa League if they get knocked out they too do not play in Prague..
The only chance therefore of us going to Prague is for Sparta to somehow fight through the away tie in Sweden (having already conceded two away goals) and then beat Thun of Switzerland or Chikura Sachkhere of Georgia. That will then put them in the play-off round with the likes of Spurs, Fiorentina, Dynamo Kiev, Spartak Moscow, Feyenoord, Betis, Besiktas among many others including Atromitos who we played on Monday.
They then could get through to the group stages – which we have already qualified for. I suspect people don’t really fully realise the scale of our achievement to reach this stage.
Didn’t we play the fourth in the Greek League on Monday night, the team that finished above Panathinaikos and who are in the Europa League too?
Didn’t we just play three games in the States?
I don’t think anyone classes Dundee United as our “marquee foreign opponents”. In fact I don’t think there are such things as marquee opponents in football. Maybe in rugby.
After all, marquees are where you find the clowns.
Also Muttey – watch the language please.
Certainly not!
Someone did criticise Bobby once on here and, of course, I was going to ban him for life, but unfortunately I was too late and all that was left were a few bleached bones.
As good as this from last night’s game?
