Is it significant that the press release says “Wigan Athletic have today announced that technical sports apparel brand Mifit will supply the Replica kit and training apparel for the new Barclays Premier League season. The deal will initially last two seasons, and be Mifit’s first venture into the replica market.”?
It talks about the Replica Kit, training apparel and the replica market. It doesn’t say they will be producing the first team kit.
And no, I can’t think why the two would be separate – but it just struck me as a strange phrasing.
“The figures are worth repeating: the latest budget red book puts UK debt at 61.9% of gross domestic product in 2010/11 (against 177% in 1932) and debt interest at 6.3% of total public expenditure in 2010/11 (against 40% in 1932).
And the invaluable annual report of the Bank for International Settlements (the “central bankers’ bank”, based in Basle) contains some impressive charts and tables that suggest our new prime minister and chancellor, along with their Lib Dem collaborators, should be prosecuted under the Trade Descriptions Act for distorting the scale of our fiscal problems.
I give you chapter and verse: on page 68 (Part V) you will find that Britain is top of the league when it comes to the length of time before its debt has to be refinanced. The “average maturity” of the UK’s debt is 14 years; by comparison, other leading industrial countries, including the US and Germany, have maturities of under 9 years. This is not to say there is anything wrong with the US or German position – few can gainsay the fiscal rectitude of the Germans; and the US, whatever its fiscal problems, remains the pre-eminent reserve currency. But it shows how hysterical the debate in Britain has become.”

Didn’t Zaki used to do it.
Until he buggered off.
Already tried that garswood matey, the thing is, whenever I try to send him a message, it goes into my outbox instead of my sent messages box, I don’t know if this is because he hasn’t read it, or the message won’t send.I’ve found that. I think it sits in your outbox until it’s actually read.
Go to one of the threads he’s started (at the top of this board) and under the message you’ll find a button marked “profile”.
Click and you can PM him from there.
This is beginning to sound like an episode of the Waltons
…& take a few hundred (minimum) to Marine, Chester, Kendal, Dundee, Robin Park & Altringham. I don’t think so.
’Somewhere between 12 and 15 thousand’Ha ha ha not this year mate!!
What I now should say is “I’ll bet you £100 that the final figure is higher than 12 and lower than 15,000” ;)
An old betting trick, sorry…..
Somewhere between 12 and 15 thousand.
I don’t normally stick my neck out on this sort of thing (and shouldn’t this be in the transfer thread?) but …
Stoke? Nonsense.
Pollitt (1st season Pollitt)Chimbonda Scharner (pre ‘midfielder’) Bramble Baines
Valencia Palacios Cattermole N’Zogbia
Heskey Rodallega
I think this would be a cracking team, although could possibly replace Heskey with a pre Christmas Zaki
Quite close to my choice.
Except… ;)
Back 4 spot on. Quite a few have included De Zeeuw (and Jackson), but by the time we got to Premier League they had the turning circle of the QEII. If we’re talking about PL ability, then can’t include them.
Midfield I think I’d have Bullard instead of Cattermole.
Up front though for me it has to be first season Roberts and Camara. Maybe replace Camara with the pre-Xmas Zaki, as mentioned.
There was a match last night? That’s the point really, isn’t it?
Unless someone posts something on here gloating or otherwise, I have no idea there has been a game on. I really don’t care one way or the other.
I don’t despise their supporters for supporting their team – but I really don’t care whether they’ve won or lost.
It’s just the same to me how Wigan Hockey or Wigan Rugby Union or Wigan Chess Team have got on.
Peter Beardsley has been advised not to turn up in Rothbury. Police have said the stand off is ugly enough.
Went to 2001 Champions League Final in Milan.
Called in to a supermarket not far from the stadium and met Olivier Bierhoff (who was then with AC) getting some ale in to watch the match.
It’s weird when you realise an Octopus knows more about football than you.
