He’ll be on his merry way if we don’t beat Blackburn! Fans questions and answers night will have been cancelled because of a possible ultimatum ( Polite word in his ear from Sharpe! )

But surely the medical procedures that have caused the cancellation of fan interactions will also prevent him from taking the team for training and being involved on Saturday?

Actually a win and a loss gains more points than two draws

Please tell Joyce that gl
Someone should have said that last August!!! Getting a bit late now. Worse than Rosler and Malky between them!!
You’d have thought the analysts and statisticians would have noticed it, tbh ;)

Just looking on a Forest forum and this page is a sample.
Have a read – if you change the names to Latics players it could be copied and pasted for us too.

Peter Shilton training with a sandbag strapped to his back; so that on match days ( with sandbag removed ) he could leap like a salmon.

Maybe someone should tell the current Latics team that they need to take the sandbags off

We definitely need some width, and some midfielders with as much appetite as Morsy. You can tell, too, that the left and right backs are under strict instructions to stay in their own halves and not overlap. The net result is we’re not getting the ball into the box anywhere quick enough. Only our corners and central defenders have improved since Joyce came along.

My team for Sat would be:

Gilks

Connolly Warnock

Tunnicliffe Morsy Perkins

Obertan Bogle Grigg

(Though to be honest, there isn’t much to choose from)

There isn’t much to choose if you’re only going to play with nine :)

Bury away and a two all draw on a flooded pitch.

Was that the game where Mark Leonard turned away celebrating a late winner only for the ball to stop in a puddle a foot from the line?
I seem to think it was.
3 all actually – Boxing Day fancy dress.
Typical Latics (and I suppose Bury too) – very muddy, rain-soaked pitch. So what did the defences do? Kept playing balls back to their keeper – which of course never reached their target, stuck in the mud, and created havoc.

The moment the net swelled and we knew that Little Wigan were in The Top Flight of English football. 3-1 and Reading couldn’t come back. Only capped when Ben Watson rose above the City defence and the net swelled and there was no way back for City. Spent most of those last few minutes in floods of tears.
No way back for Arsenal either as the net swelled at Highbury from Jason Roberts effort, runs very close to those as Latics had made their first major final.
Pretty Brilliant in The AWS final when the net swelled again giving Millwall no way back.
Hope we can give the Finneyites no way back on Saturday.

Don’t always agree with you, donny, but these are spot on my best memories in recent years.
I still have recorded that commentary from the Reading game. I was in prawn sandwich that day, and spent the night out in Wigan in a suit. Even managed to blag my way among the players in Walkabout.
The following day a big boss from London was visiting, and noticing my state asked if I was OK. I said I was, I had just been celebrating promotion.
“Oh, congratulations” she said. “Where are you going to be working?”
“Not me. My football team”
I don’t think she understood, to be honest.
