Sorry old bean I will sadly have to decline your kind offer as I am away for a weekend in Yorkshire, and I won’t miss the shite RM is once again serving up,you keep dreaming about a top six finish under RM,it ain’t gonna happen, sweet dreams ;)

        Enjoy your National Coach Holiday.

Don’t know what your tripping about a top 6 finish for.

Some of us don’t scream murder when we get a cup replay and some of us don’t think we will be challenging for Europe any time soon.

        It is called being reasonable.

Give it a go some time.
Maybe his best squad comment wasn`t totally correct.

But as for being made to look silly I`d say not even a tenth as silly as the ones on here last season who were promising relegation from the start of the season. There was a lot of egg on a lot of peoples faces on here at the end of the season. Put there by that “Spanish Clown”.

Whenever people find out that I`m a Wigan fan I always get the “you are going down this season”, to which I reply “Bet you`ve been saying that for the past 7 seasons, one day you may be correct”. Strange though how our so called fans are now saying it. I`m sure they will be right one day

If latics were playing utd or arsenal today instead of Bournemouth , would Martinez have played so many res & youngsters?

Yes, he told you that the strains of playing 4 games in 10 days had made his team look jaded.

He said that he would be playing his fringe players so why are people finding it so hard to understand.
Because we have on board generally the thickest set of fans in Premier league history

ROBERTO Martinez will seize the opportunity to ring the changes for Saturday’s FA Cup visit of Bournemouth after admitting the festive programme eventually got the better of Wigan Athletic.

Latics concluded their Christmas schedule with a 4-0 thumping by Manchester United on Tuesday, which came just three days after arguably the best performance of the campaign at Aston Villa.

Four games in the space of 11 days was always going to test one of the smallest squads in the Premier League – particularly with injuries and illness also biting.

And the Wigan boss hopes some players who haven’t been starting of late will be looking at the visit of the Cherries as their chance to play their way into his thinking.

“The players are all approaching this run of games with a very positive attitude and they want to make an impact to help the team,” Martinez acknowledged.

“Ronnie (Stam), Jordi (Gomez) and Callum (McManaman) all showed good signs when they came on against United.

“But overall it was too much to ask of the squad to compete over 90 minutes with a United team full of quality and, more significantly, fresh legs.

“We have been able to take the opportunity to freshen our midfield combination up in the last week.

“James McArthur was rested at Aston Villa and David Jones was given a break on Tuesday because he was suffering with a virus and had to take antibiotics.

“We needed to share the demands of that midfield partnership, and over the next few weeks hopefully we can keep refreshing players in a big point in our season.”

Saturday’s line-up should include the likes of Stam, Gomez, McManaman, Fraser Fyvie and Mauro Boselli, while Angelo Henriquez is in line to make his debut after joining on loan from Manchester United.

Tickets remain on sale for the FA Cup third-round tie, with fans reminded that only the Springfield Stand (reserved seating) and the Boston Stand (unreserved seating) will be open.

Southampton haven’t exactly got a big squad and they came out of the Xmas period ok ! Other sides also didn’t do too much squad rotation, this Xmas excuse is straight out of the Arsene Wenger book of whinging ! :cheer:
hmmm should I take the opinion of Bobby well respected coach and all round good guy and works with the players week in week out or that of a window cleaner

                I’ll go with Bobby

It’s quite bizarre how you remember some games and others not at all. This Bournemouth game falls into the not at all category even though I must have been there. You would think the threat that the game might not finish because of snow would etch it into the memory for ever. Now the trip to Southampton I do remember with some degree of clarity.

Yes on the cattle wagon excuse of a train for a kick off

I always find the ‘ I won’t be bothering’ comments amazing. It’s supposed to be your team. What else will you be doing ffs!

You bother every other week and tomorrow it’s only a ten spot to get in and see the new lads.

Me and little un (2 & 1/2) for his 2nd ever game tomorrow.

Win or lose it’s the FA Cup 3rd round.

Indeed a season ticket works out at £13 odd a game yet this game is for £10 admittedly it is Bournemouth but you just have to look what lower league ticket prices are ,they are dearer than us
