Ps I’m guessing it will be normal business on this site if Wigan don’t pick up 3 points tomorrow

Not really but I just find these international breaks so ridiculous. For a friendly against USA. Nice winning most weeks last season though.

Not forgetting we play Croatia today in a game that could see us winning our Nations league group or getting relegated. Of no importance whatsoever todays game. What I don’t agree with is the days international games are now played on. Only in finals would England play Thursday and Sunday but now its any day any time and it does my swede in.
How does England playing Croatia affect a Latics game today when we and our potential opponents in a league game don’t have players in the England squad?
All these international breaks are for a reason and league games are planned around the Fifa designated dates. While Latics don’t have anyone in the England squad many championship players will be away on international duty all around the globe. It makes it easier for everyone to have these breaks and to me it makes perfect sense. Clubs and players know all they need to know and can plan for the long journeys.
Had to read through quite a few posts before I came to the most sensible one on the subject. Maybe I’m being a bit greedy here but don’t people not think that the current international break gives the club a chance on the injury front? How do people think that Brexit will affect things? Maybe it will be harder to buy players with EU clubs?? Some here could get their wish and have an all English team and you can sing ‘rule britannia’ from the terraces ;) ;)

Got 2 tickets today. Thanks again for the offer Jayt. I usually travel over for home games but this will be my third away game after Burnley won 3-1 and QPR won 1-0 (The Duke). Looking to maintain my 100% away success record (would be perfect timing!!). Hope we’ll bring the luck of the Irish!! Haven’t told daughter yet that Grigg won’t be playing

No one is obliged to wear a poppy. If they don’t wear one they aren’t obliged to explain themselves.

By now we should know the reasons these guys don’t wear poppies, McClean has explained clearly enough times. No one has to respect what he say, but we should all understand it by now. It would be great if we could accept it by now. The abuse McClean says he gets is not acceptable.

Like it or not, accept it or not, respect it or not ….. I wear a poppy …. a white one. Please don’t abuse me for it.

I have no problem with you wearing a white poppy or indeed a red one. I’d hope you have no problem with me not wearing one or not having to explain myself for not wearing one.

I think this would be a fitting end to this discussion??

One person’s hero is another person’s terrorist, it’s a very fine line.

Yes he should. NATO forces acted in reaction to the Serbian facists racism and genocide in Kosovo.
James had his own reasons as have been documented every year, like them or loathe them but at the end of the day many servicemen gave him the right to exercise his freedom of speech with the ultimate price.

No person should be abused for exercising their personal choice based on their own experiences and values. Do you not see the contradiction in your comment i.e. ‘give him the right to exercise his freedom of speech….’ and then trying to get the hordes to abuse him for doing just that. Players like Matic and McClean shouldn’t even have to explain their reasons. Sick of listening to this poppy fascism shite every year

And where were your heroes of NATO and the UN at Srebenica? Yes just sat by and witnessed a genocide.

                  Keep this forum to football.
Not my heroes Trav. Sadly they did nothing about Srebenica.
                  What is Poppy Fascism?
Poppy fascism? In simple terms denying someone (or in your case advocating abusing someone) their right of self expression or freedom of choice, a basic principle of democracy.

So who will play in defensive midfield with Morsy? Or is the Pillock available who was sent off at Preston?
Let’s wait and see. Could we sign that Power from Sunderland on an emergency loan?

Is this the same ‘pillock’ you were praising after the game against Sheffield Wednesday? You are the most fickle supporter I have ever come across. Full of praise when Wigan win and sticking the book in when they lose. A bit like Wigan at the moment I suppose, very inconsistent.

McManaman   , I know it’s tongue in cheek but what’s the obsession with this guy. Played more shite games than good ones for us, brainless with a short fuse. Left at first opportunity, did f**k all at the other clubs he went to. Has come back older and more than likely poorer and some think he should be an automatic starter?? Ok purchase as cover and if’s he unhappy with that leave him piss off again and see who wants him.
