We’ve never had a decent Striker since “english born”! Nathan Ellington 04-05 season 24 goals ;) And that’s a fact. Not getting 40k a week at Wigan, not a snowball in hell’s chance.(awaits SW) It’s not so far off, know-all :)
30k the wage limit at wiggin :o Why chill James marrer? he doesnt want to be here. I imagine his agent is totally knackered tonight from trying to get him out of here. I want players to be committed like they showed on Saturday now this joker will continue to pick up his 40k a week till Jan then we will hear his desires to leave again. Not getting 40k a week at Wigan, not a snowball in hell’s chance.(awaits SW) Just asked a Rovers and Man U season ticket holder their thoughts. I shall post when they reply. Why, have you got no thoughts of your own?
Haven’t seen enough of them. They will (or in the Utd case may) have. With regards the Santo signing I can’t say I’m too impressed tbh going off his gs record
He’s another Moreno according tut Rovers fans. Signs on a 3 year deal.Might go 4-4-2 now Di Santo and Boselli upfront together. sometimes I worry for our lodgers mentality at times :roll:Be Towd!
Tha knows their one of the most famous an successful sporting clubs in the world.
One of the “Giants of British Sport” :roll:I hope JR doe’s come back good’un imo. Heard that Wembley is a sell out today, couple of mates gone for the weekend. Wembley holds in the region of 93,000, there were 85,000 tickets slod with 74,500 actually through the gates. So if 74,500 out of 93,00 is a full house, thenm yes well done. I am actually amazed that 74,500 turned up, but I guess a lot were free tickets to the ‘Wembley Club’ as well.
Never had a full house at Wembley or Old Trafford simply impossible to fit all the fat bastards in.
Together with concern’s raised by Structural Engineer’s fearing a Pancake style collapse of the stadia due to the excessive weight of klump supporter’s. ;)Played 22 scored 1 no thank’s ;) He said in the post match interviews that this is were the teams season starts?. please bob keep this man in the nets?. I do not know the crack with kirkland?. bob said that kirkland had a knock in training????? I dread bob having some loyalty to kirkland and dropping Ali when kirkland is right again?. or perhaps bob as come to his senses at long last?Aye hopefully the penny’s dropped. Wigan played NZ on Dec 11th so I presume leagueSussed it owt now it was when RL split with Union and formed Northen Union,Fan’s where a lot slimmer in those days though http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=14840    The reason we buy foreigners is because they are so much cheaper. For example, Palacios cost us £1 million, and then we sold him on for £14 million. Had we wanted to sign a British player of his quality, say Gareth Barry, he would have cost us £15 million? Plus he couldn’t have joined us anyway as Liverpool and City were after him. In a nutshell, that’s why we don’t buy English players often. Aye and their wage’s are low to Palacios on £8k a week, make’s me wonder where this alleged £42mill wage bill come’s from ;) I’ll best put me tin helmet on
I’ll step up to the plate…Not really that difficult to come to such a figure if you consider that for every Palacios, there is a Brown, Bramble, Kirkland or Melchiot. Players are never on flat rate contracts, and they get bonuses for all sorts of things (wins, goals, staying up, appearances etc). The lower salaried players are usually highly incentivised, as it’s not certain they’ll make it in the Premier League, so if they perform well, they are well rewarded. Don’t take Palacios’ £8k a week as read – he’d have earned considerably more than that. Then you have the Manager and coaching staff, reserve and academy players, Directors, and the rest of the people that it takes to run a football club – from ticket office assistant to Club Secretary. Remember, when it says £42 million, it doesn’t just mean the first team players. A total wage bill of £42 million is relatively low compared to other clubs. Or perhaps you’re right. Wigan pay nowhere near that in wages, and I suppose Whelan pockets the difference.
Bramble’s supposedly on 40k-50k a week at wigan ,don’t believe it “some one’s telling Porkies”. ;) The reason we buy foreigners is because they are so much cheaper. For example, Palacios cost us £1 million, and then we sold him on for £14 million. Last nights win was particularly impressive as it was achieved with a squad of U18 and U20 locally born players. Tha didn’t make the big 1 tomorrow at Wembley.
