Almost there

I don’t see Saturday as a “1 question shoot-out”! The table shows that we are almost certainly guaranteed promotion on Saturday.

I’ve never been bothered whether we win this league or not as long as we get automatic promotion. As long as we don’t lose heavily on Saturday, we are as good as in the Championship already.

Looking at the table as it stands after last night’s defeat, if we lose on Saturday by one goal, MK Dons have to beat a Plymouth side (who need to win to guarantee a play-off place) by SIX goals! And even if we lose, if we scored at Shrewsbury, then the number of goals that MK Dons would have to score to be promoted would also increase, because currently we have six more goals than them in the for column as well!

So, although things are never over until “the fat lady sings”, statistically I’m not sure that we would fall out of the automatic places – that would require one heck of a collapse on our part!

LR’s job as a manager was to get the best out of these players – I think whether we agree or disagree on his acumen as a manager, we cannot argue the fact that with one game left, we do have one foot over the line and I can’t see that we will denied promotion by 2.30 on Saturday afternoon!!!

Holy flying f##ks from heaven, that statement rings a bell from 2013 when I herd the same bellend remark regarding winning the FA Cup or staying up. Some had written us off and preferred a win at Arsenal over City, those people were dickheads of the highest order.

Winnings trophy’s for players and fans is what creates great memoires not 2nd places.

Look I’m a life long Latics fans end of but Portsmouth away just didn’t happen it was a combination of a lot of mistakes made by our manager:-

Subs Lang 81
Keane 90 ?? Explain get key players off ,rest.

Morecombe home 4-1 up 68mins
Leaves Keane on till the end brings Edwards on 88th min, why ??

Crewe away 0-2
Keane plays full 90 instead takes Humphrys off 78 a guy who’s itching for 90 minutes under his belt.

McClean at Bolton, was on a yellow first half and then made 2 more tackles just before the half time which were borderline for a 2nd yellow.
He comes out for the 2nd half and the Bolton players are straight into him waiting for him to react and a second yellow which nearly happened.

For me McCleans brilliant full on for 60-65 mins then he tends to fade or gas abit. He should have been replaced at half time with all that went on in the 1st half but Richardson keeps him on the full 90 and he ends up picking up a bad knock keeping out ever since.

As for Aasguaard?, brings him on for Cousins against Shrewsbury and he hits an injury time winner.

Now he’s back fit, never used, a lad who has the skill to change a game in the blink of an eye with a bit of magic Richardson clearly doesn’t think so or he would have been used since he’s been back.

And that’s not mentioning all the games were he shoehorned Shinnie in the middle at the expense of Power and Darwika into unfamiliar positions making the side totally unbalanced, what the hell was Richardson thinking??. One man and his dog could see Darikwa looked like a duck out of water and for a few games we played some of our worse football of the season.

Richardson then saw the error of his ways and rectified it that was until the home game against Cambridge were he’s back to his old tricks.

It was like he was trying to prove a point to everyone that he knows best and it will work and I will show you lot, look n learn and we go in and lose when a point from that game would have sent us up.

And finally the long ball to Magennis who loses far more than he wins. Even Hull fans have said, why ??. He’s a player who’s goals have come from crosses from wide position’s similar to Pearce’s balls in at Portsmouth. Magennis has shown this at home and Crewe away.

With it been such a long season and us relying on keys players the likes of Lang and Keane Richardson insisted on playing players to the death when we were clearly in control of games and a few goals ahead.

And now?,  we have a team who are over the top fitness wise, all fatigued no doubt lots carrying strains and knocks combinating in a collapse in recent games Pompey away been the highlight that 2nd half we had nothing left to give.

I’ll repeat myself again, as a coach I think Richardson is excellent and he’s coached the side brilliant but there’s another side to been a manager and it’s the ability to manage players resting and subbing at the key moments. This bit is were he terribly lacks in experience and he makes some very poor in play management decision’s.
These have tumbleweeded into an end of season collapse.

We are only in the position because this League is poor that’s a fact, very poor and because those clubs who are sat just below us are sh#tter than us.

We have had 2 wins from our last 8 games and were still 2pts clear? beggar’s belief.

I think Richardson is the luckiest manager alive to be were we are with the way were playing right now. Had 2 or 3 of those sides below us took advantage just the odd win here and there (as clubs normally do) we’d be play-offs at our best.

1 win is all we need Saturday 1win. Not a point as some have said

Can’t believe how twitchy Ive felt since the Portsmouth result. Counting the hours down to 12:30 Saturday. Last time I felt this jittery was the 6 minutes after the famous Wembley goal. That was 6 minutes……this is over 3 days of it !!!!

F*** the let’s get a point. This is a 1 game winner takes all. Why the hell would anyone want Mk to falter rather than us top this league is gross stupidity .We are virtually up,so that is in the bag…..now for the top prize. Certainly the players won’t be playing for 2nd ,as McCleans comments prove. Let’s make one humongous final statement to the football community, Efl,the so called “Big clubs” sitting below us and more importantly to our town that yet again we have achieved the impossible .We have risen from near oblivion to top our league in 1 season and return to where we rightly belong………let’s finish with a bang and smash them….
