Would have been a great day

8 November 2020 at 3:33 pm #189893Fa cup headline for all the wrong reasons.Thought we’d already hit the bottom!!!……Shambolic…….Sheridan totally lost during extra time break.Keane on way too late……as gutless display as I’ve seen from us. Chorley hadn’t scored in 6hrs prior, bottom of national league North and our pathetic performance gifts them 3.
8 November 2020 at 3:38 pm #189894They weren’t even in it 11v11.
Once we went down to 10 men there was only one winner.
Canvey Island was probably a worse defeat than this, but the fact it’s Chorley doesn’t help.
8 November 2020 at 3:39 pm #189895What else should we expect with Sheridan in charge. Totally unacceptable and embarrassing. Massey must never wear the shirt again and has to go through the same door as Sheridan. Thank Christ the next league game is off.
8 November 2020 at 3:50 pm #189896I wish i could choose the lottery numbers like i more or less predicted this defeat a week ago on this thread!
A clueless manager, players that don’t give a shit (apart from a couple of young lads) what the fuck do you expect?
We may as well have played the second half with nine men for what use Massey was today, Sheridan should be told to clear his desk immediatley, and mark my words there will be more shit to come in the next few months.
Had just about enough of this bollocks and i’m not on my own, i await the excuses from the usual suspects.
Fuck the EFL
8 November 2020 at 3:59 pm #189897It comes down to the same question as lastbseason about Cook, but with even more of an emphasis on finances….
Who replaces Sheridan? Leam Richardson didn’t want the job, and we aren’t in a position to offer any form of substantial contract.
Massey was terrible today.
Again though, at 11v11 they aren’t in the game. If we hold them out for 15-20 minutes after half time we probably win the game. Instead (yet again) we concede inside 5 minutes and give them even more of a lift. Amd then we did it AGAIN in extra time.
Our levels of concentration are terrible and we are starting to concede the same schoolboy goals as we did last season. Granted half our team are actually schoolboys this season.
8 November 2020 at 4:08 pm #189898We’ve just got to ride it out at the moment. If we ever get a back 4 to play 2 or 3 games together with a steady keeper we might start to give ourselves a chance, but until then it’ll be more of the same.
The youngsters will get better but they can’t do week in week out yet.8 November 2020 at 4:19 pm #189899We literally have 11 players. Jones, Naismith, Palmer, Otobar and the 2 centre backs didn’t play today.
Our squad is made up of kids and players nobody wants.
The commentary team made it sound like they hae come from behind to beat Liverpool at Anfield today. They beat 10 men, 6 or 7 of which were kids.
Yes we should have held on as a L1 club, but we are only that in name.
Things will get a lot lot worse before this nightmare is over.
8 November 2020 at 4:41 pm #189900How do you think Christo is feeling after watching that shite?
8 November 2020 at 4:46 pm #189901I watched that today and was shocked. Was Massey a regular last season, or is he at the end of a contract that originated when you were last in the 3rd division? I agree that he looked utter gash though, but then again so did everyone except the lad who was playing out right (Crankshaw – I think)
Serious question – how far do you think you’ll drop before you start to rise again (ie, do you think you’ll stay up, and if not, do you think you’ll come straight back up)?
8 November 2020 at 4:47 pm #1899022 up and flying
Man sent off
Came out still asleep, conceded and let them in the game
Utterly appalling after that
Garner should have scored
Sheridan out8 November 2020 at 5:11 pm #189903We were in control at 2 – 0. The sending off completely changed the game.
8 November 2020 at 5:28 pm #189904Absolutely the worst performance by any Wigan athletic team in the last 30 years and that’s saying something during Kenny Swains era !!
A lack of interest and total lack of respect for the game , casual fist pumps after our goals , complete arrogance.
Chorley had a plumpish bearded guy in their midfield who had the Sunday league look written all over him however he had so much room it made him look like Zidane and that’s says all for me.
The sooner the better the Spaniard is in charge and we get some structure the better!
Well done to Chorley btw , very well played.8 November 2020 at 5:35 pm #189905I watched that today and was shocked. He was in and out of the side.
We will be relegated this season and struggle in League 2 unless there is some real substance in this elongated takeover.8 November 2020 at 5:43 pm #189906We literally have 11 players. Jones, Naismith, Palmer, Otobar and the 2 centre backs didn’t play today.

It is certainly only that in name. With your exlanation there which is spot on I wouldnt even put this down as an upset or giant killing. Most of those youngsters under normal circumstances would be loaned out to non league clubs and Chorleys management knew that. Our journeymen who were actually fit would also under normal circumstances would also more than likely have fallen out of the football league and be part time in non league so to me no upst whatsooever as we have a non league manager too.
