Could have been 10 clear now. Come 5pm tomorrow it could be 2.
30 December 2017 at 2:11 am #164589Don’t panic we can pick enough points up on our travels.
30 December 2017 at 2:22 am #164590Pardon the language that was fuckin garbage and totally out thought by Robinson.
30 December 2017 at 2:23 am #164591Not good at all when can’t score at home.
30 December 2017 at 2:29 am #164592I hope so cos on that showing we wont get many at home. Not enough urgency yet again in the 1st half.We allow teams to settle and hope we can break em down 2nd half…..not working !!We created more against Shrewsbury than against a team completely out of form with 17 players on the treatment table. Sorry but Massey flattered to deceive again and why did the Hunt and Power substitutions come so late ??….Hunt has the experience to help unlock these park the bus teams yet we give him 5 mins.Wtf did we sign him for.Our formation works away when teams have a go at us but its dog shit at home.
30 December 2017 at 2:41 am #164593Please …a striker with prescence …a nippy winger ….and Colclough starting.Oh and substitutions before last 5 mins
30 December 2017 at 2:44 am #164596get a fuckin grip the lot of u. Played two promotion rivals twice and still unbeaten recently. Top, best GD and that won’t change whatever happens tomorrow.
30 December 2017 at 2:45 am #164597Please …a striker with prescence …a nippy winger ….and Colclough starting.Oh and substitutions before last 5 minsTheir number 18 tonight put Grigg and Toney to shame. Was nippy and tricky as hell, in a young Jermain Defoe kind of way. He very nearly did us, late on.
30 December 2017 at 2:46 am #164598Much too slow up front against a team defending like that.
You can’t play slowly against that – you have to cut incisively and quickly, hit them before they can react. Playing slowly sideways just allows them to regroup behind the ball.
Elder was poor I thought – James provides far more attacking options.30 December 2017 at 2:54 am #164599Much too slow up front against a team defending like that.

Elder was poor I thought – James provides far more attacking options.Agree. If you consider that Massey, once again, did very little and that Jacobs is looking very jaded and short of a rest, he looked burned out tonight and not his usual energetic “run at them” self, that means that Grigg was up front and lacking their support, which is the crux of our formation. Toney gave us an extra body up front when he came on, and is good in the air, but clumsy and shocking on the ground. But then we didnt have the players getting down the flank to put crosses over. And yes, I agree that Elder didnt have a good game. Evans delivery was poor also. Oh and Powell was shocking. Not sure if he agreed with his substitution, but he did nothing tonight. Once again.
Perhaps we are now seeing what Pompey fans meant about Cook having no plan B? The squad definitely needs additions to freshen things up. My dad said this about Will Grigg tonight. “I just wish he was taller and had more strength with defenders”. Fair points.
30 December 2017 at 2:54 am #164600Need more urgency & someone who can run with the ball & take it to the byline, instead of stopping dead & passing it sideways.
If teams are coming here to park the bus, we need a plan B, C etc..
30 December 2017 at 2:56 am #164601Promotion rivals my arse…..won 1 of their last 9 league games….16 pts behind us and hardly any fit players. They worked hard but were there for the taking. We were crap…particularly 1st half.looked like a training game. Cook needs to instill some urgency early doors at home .This is becoming a pattern now.Just hope Shrewsbury and Rovers drop a bollock tomorrow ……methinks they’ll have a great incentive now .A massive opportunity missed.
30 December 2017 at 3:04 am #164603I’m going to Northampton with a probable hangover on New Years Day and if we play like that again I want a bloody refund or it will be Cook out, if they can’t be arsed why should I with my hard earned money.
30 December 2017 at 3:04 am #164604Think the word we’re looking for is frustrating, a point against the top of the league away is a good result for most teams, we need to get an early goal against these sort of teams and force them out or we’d better get used to these sort games at home because that’s how it’s going to be. Also need to start having a crack from outside the box instead of trying to walk it in or useless high balls to the smallest bloke on the pitch.
30 December 2017 at 3:17 am #164605When teams park the bus and are obviously going for a point the really clued up managers change formation asap to nullify it. That’s why some teams are reverting to 4-4-2 4-3-3 mid game and that’s what Paul has to conquer. If it ain’t working and the opponents are sitting deep then the only way to bring them out is to play with width pace and force them out of position. Liverpool have been brilliant at it on occasions. Disappointed tonight we are simply not able to put daylight between ourselves and the rest. C,Mon boys.
