You can only be talking about the quick break away near the end as that was the only time they ventured forward. As for going closer to scoring than any of our strikers, that is stretching it a bit, as his shot actually went out for a throw on the opposite side. Even Toneys shooting isn’t thst bad.
There is nothing wrong with our style of play. It just needs to be done QUICKER – especially at home.

Inches away according to VAT. He’s put em to shame hitting the corner flag! There’s some beauts on here that’s for sure. This 18 has scored two goals in 49 games. Swap him for Grigg asap.
There was one occasion in the second half when they rounded Walton and Elder (i think) cleared off the line. No other real chances of note.
We need our wide men to get down the flanks more when we play against this style as opposed to giving them the ball with players in front of them, they need to be dragging men wide and getting round the back like Gary Teale used to do.
When teams park the bus and are obviously going for a point the really clued up managers change formation asap to nullify it. That’s why some teams are reverting to 4-4-2 4-3-3 mid game and that’s what Paul has to conquer. If it ain’t working and the opponents are sitting deep then the only way to bring them out is to play with width pace and force them out of position. Liverpool have been brilliant at it on occasions.
