We have a lack of confidence. Its clear. Evans missing and Walton being shite are not Cooks fault. He then gives a talk and within 5 we concede again. Summat we keep doin and doin. Again….not cooks fault and a good job hes bald.

He says week after week we need to stop making mistakes because at this level we get punished but players (and usually the ones fans claim are the best) keep makin em.

So drop them? Just a thought!

        Forthcoming league fixtures:

        Villa H
        Sheff Wed A
        Forest A
        QPR H
        Rotherham A

That takes us to Feb 9th.

I can’t see us getting much more than 5pts. In reality I think we need 10pts to consider ourselves past the poor form we’ve been in since early October.

Phil He’s awe inspiring to Me and should be treated that way. What He don’t know is not worth knowing about in my opinion.

Obviously this forum is frequented by one man and his dog. Don’t get feeling in stands that fans want change and most lads i know are still behind Cook. Few on here talk a cracker but don’t see them making their voice heard during games. Be amazed if Cook wasn’t given more time but wish some showed passion they show on social media when watching their team.

Last year Paul Cook gave us one of the best seasons Wigan Athletic have had with some great football on show, beating amongst the best in the country.

Great football gainst League One opposition and a fantastic 1 off cup win against City. It’s horses for courses and Cook ain’t up for the Championship.
I can understand why some people are wanting Cook out but what I can’t understand is why some want him to stay.
Results, team selection and style of play doesn’t warrant Cook to keep his job. They must be watching a different game week in week out to what I’m watching.

I want him to stay because realistically we are having the season I expected to have. Some have got a little excited by our start I think.

I didn’t expect us to be up there challenging and after the start we had I thought mid table would be big achievement for us.

Then through injuries the form takes a nose dive, the style of play (which has no excuse) becomes toothless with a lack of direction then throw in the annoying loyalty factor were certain players are totally frozen out no matter what form those on the pitch are in makes me think it’s time for a change.

If we were blowing hot and cold I’d be annoyed but it would be fully understandable considering the League were in it but we’re not even blowing luke warm.
In one aspect were in a similar boat as to Utd were in, stick or twist ??.
Once the rot sets in and players heads drop with no sign of improvement then the owners will be left with no choice even though they really don’t want to.
I heard were linked with Stockley the forward from Exeter £750,000.
He won’t make a sod of difference if we are playing like we are were forwards are starved of service.

Cook speaks well and seems like a nice guy but at the end of the day he’ll be judged on results and the Royals won’t be able to save him from the chop.
I’ve looked through are fixtures and were destined for the bottom 3 by Feb.
Like I said, Powell should have gone in the summer for the reported £8-£10 million and used to strengthen the squad as a whole.

Some will say dammed if you do dammed if you don’t with Powell but if Powell was fighting fit he wouldn’t be with us anyway. The lads injury prone and needs to be managed with kid gloves, something other clubs wouldn’t put up with. He’s a luxury player due to a catalogue of injuries. We can’t afford to have players worth those kind of figures unable to complete 90 minutes or missing through injury especially when the monies been on the table !!.

There’s no better time to make the change that’s unless in the Jan window the new owners back him heavily and we bring in a minimum of 5 to 6 players and priority been a fit and able ball playing midfielder and possibly pace wide.
But the problem there is, if any new signings are not players chosen by Cook himself will he play them ?, a prime example been MacManaman who wasnt a Cook player.

I’m just glad to see Steve Bruce has got a job, I don’t think I could cope with him for a 3rd time

I accept that and obviously our form is a major issue, but when you consider the injuries we have had (losing our entire front four for example) and the fact that our squad is worth less than half of most squads at this level we will always be up against it. Cookie has had to change our style of play to some extent because the players we have available are not able to play the fast paced attacking game that we set out to play at the start with Powell, Massey and Jacobs running at defences.

The new owners have already said that they won’t be throwing money around willy nilly so I don’t expect us to be suddenly bringing top level players in. It will be the usual risks from lower leagues and Scotland with loans from the Prem that will either work and be heralded as genius or won’t.
