You’re the Problem ! Who the fuck are You?. From been a poster originally now somehow with the way CL evolved You’re now the Police on Here !
12 December 2018 at 12:31 am #173929Ban Me Garswood You Chump ! lol
12 December 2018 at 12:40 am #173930Anything to add on the Derby game Bob?
12 December 2018 at 12:46 am #173933I was happy with the endeavour the lads showed in the 2nd half Egg ;)
12 December 2018 at 1:15 am #173934I think we’ll have to agree to disagree TL. Wilson missed another opportunity actually inside the box after this so not sure it was an obvious scoring opportunity? And by the way, Wilson had his arms held aloft and looking at the ref to emphasis his claim.
Saw championship highlights last night and Bradley Dack did exactly what you don’t like in order to get his man sent off..
I love footy but hate this cheating business, it ruins the game, even more than Gavin Ward did
And i agree with you Jimmy! I’m not sure it was a ‘nailed on’ obvious scoring opportunity. From where i was sitting he would have to have been a lot better footballer than he demonstrated yesterday for it to have been even 80% chance of going in.
Whether he has the ability to have scored is irrelevant – he’d have got the ball in the penalty area and been in a position for an obvious scoring opportunity. Whether that opportunity had fallen to Messi, Wilson or someone who can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo doesn’t matter. The key word is opportunity and not that they would have scored
I get that TL, but anybody who’s played footy knows you’re not thrown to the floor by a hand on the shoulder.
Coincidentally, was speaking to a Sheff Utd fan on Monday and as soon as I mentioned Wilson he started telling me he’d done the same to them.
Refs should be aware of the likes of Wilson and bear it in mind before brandishing a red. Do you know if professional refs are told of ones to watch?12 December 2018 at 11:38 am #173946I was happy with the endeavour the lads showed in the 2nd half Egg ;)Much better.
12 December 2018 at 1:28 pm #173949I understand what cognitive dissonance is but what is a Snowflake Whopper Bob?Sounds like a really big choc ice
12 December 2018 at 1:31 pm #173950A red isn’t mandatory no but the players Lostock refers to were not even cautioned.
The Bolton player, fair enough as Grigg was going away from goal but Rodwell should have been, and I would imagine would have been had he not already been on a yellow.
The ref yesterday was awful and bought into all the ‘big club’ BS from Frank Lampard’s Derby County.
Was ‘chatting’ to a DCFC guy on the train on the way back. I mentioned to him the ‘dirty’ style of football they played, that it appeared to be an aim to torment Morsy so much they’d get him sent off and that penalty areas seem to be the slippiest part of the pitch.
He kinda went silent, and the conversation stopped.
Surely the penalty box incident was either penalty or a card for diving. So why nowt, other than a brown envelope in the refs shoe.
Lampard was never the cleanest nicest guy on the pitch, was he? (added to that he is a brexiter and Tory – but we shouldn’t hold that against him)!!
WTF does his beliefs about wanting to leave Europe have to do with the game on Saturday? You can take Your cognitive dissonance and ram it where the sun don’t shine You snowflake whopper !
Welcome back Jeff!I reckon it’s a long time since the phrase cognitive dissonance appeared in a post on here!
12 December 2018 at 3:42 pm #173952This site is dying a slow death. There is literally 6 people who post regular and it’s stultifyingly boring. Sorry for pointing it out but it needed saying !Well I for one love the posts on here Bob. A lot of it is light hearted senseless twaddle but it gives me a laugh. Too many forums are way too serious and argumentative. CL is all about taking the mick and friendly banter which is exactly what the original CL fanzine was supposed to be. I agree we need a lot more folk posting on here but its still the only Latics site worth using.

Pro refs as such aren’t told of ones to watch as such by the PGMO but they do watch clubs games (i know the PL ones used to be able to claim Sky Sports subscriptions as expenses due doubt being needed for “research purposes”!!). Many will talk informally to officials who’ve done the team’s games. I was even encouraged to do it at the level I reffed at (NWCFL kevel) but didn’t coz I didn’t agree with it and don’t think a ref should prejudge a player or team -
