4 July 2015 at 3:36 pm #143056every time i go through the turnstiles is my favorite moment
And all last season your worst moment Rob was coming out through the turnstiles. :(
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!4 July 2015 at 7:13 pm #143057Paul Rogers last minute goal to shut up the alleged million Millwall fans and to send our puny support into raptures. Yet another fine example of why having big crowds actually makes jack shit difference to us at Wigan.
6 July 2015 at 1:06 pm #143085Just ended up doin about a top 13 and it got deleted somehow! I’ll just mention the ones nobody has said that I thought would be up there. Charles N’Zogbia twice. Last minute rocket off the post against Arsenal. 3-2 from 2-0 down. Then again against West Ham in even more unbelievable circumstances and mainly (pretty much entirely) thanks to Rob Green’s absolute howler. 3-2 from 2-0 again.
The awful day at Cardiff was still an achievement, despite losing 4-0 and paying over the odds for hot dogs.
Unsworth v Sheffield United, I’m still nervous about that now.
My first memory of Latics in 1993 against Chester. Won 6-3 and the game’s on Youtube somewhere.
Also 2 days in May. One 10 years ago this year ensuring Wigan Athletic were a Premier League side and sealing the Duke’s place in the Wigan hall of fame (if it was ever in doubt), one 2 years ago meaning we had our name on the most illustrious trophy in club football, also meaning we need to make an even better hall of fame just for Ben Watson.
Christ, even losing to Chelsea in our first game was something to be proud of, only an absolute wonder goal did us in and we more than held our own.
That’s about 8, I can think of hundreds more. The main ones have been mentioned I think.
6 July 2015 at 3:24 pm #143088Deepdale – 9.89 miles.
DW Stadium – 9.34 miles, so although I may have a PR post code, The DW is more local to me by over half a mile.
I won’t however be walking there next season.
Touched a nerve, has he? ;)
Not at all Griff, as a Wigan ‘red’ you should know things like that don’t bother us football fans.
PS Chorley are my local side anyway, not Nob End. There are a few Latics fans who have jumped ship tp Victory Park from all accounts.
I see what you did there. Doesn’t make it any less boring.
6 July 2015 at 4:22 pm #143089Ah, nostalgia, eh? You can’t beat a good willy-waving contest
