Grant Holt never gave a shiny shite about this club. He just needed a move closer to Cumbria. Never gave a yard for us, just a good pay day, we fell into a trap despite us all thinking he could do a good job.

Spotted regularly in Carlisle, buying pies, working on local radio and now down sizing his cars. He won’t be on our books much longer, expect a move in January.

He’s reputedly on £28k a week so I doubt he’ll be moving anywhere until his contract runs out.

When does it run out cos he’s definitely preparing for an income like an average guy.

Its Chris McCann who we will miss the most unless we take a gamble on his Championship wages. Cowie and Barnet wont really be missed and Holt to be honest hasn’t played enough to have been missed. Maybe if Rosler had given him a go a couple of seasons ago when he went to play in the Premier League or last season when he sent him sideways to Huddersfield he could have changed things we will never know but he is a little expensive now to be bench warming.

I don’t care what any of you lot think, but if Grant Holt had been allowed to play for us and hadn’t been injured or loaned out, he would have scored more goals than all the rest of the forwards we used put together.
Maybe not this season. but certainley over the last few.

Alongside Grigg he would have been great with Wildshut wide it could have been like Balow Haworth Liddle or Roberts McCulloch Ellington.
Now when we talk 3 4 3 that is what 3 4 3 is about. Maybe Gary may go for Wildshut Grigg Davies in a 3 4 3. But again maybe not.

Could the Holt loan move also coincide that this guy is almost ready to return from injury…

Doesn’t look like it as he has gone back to Spurs. Pointless signing that was ffs.

Never once looked fit or interested while he’s been here.

Spurs will get him fit and interested. God knows what he has been up to while we have been paying his wages.

He clearly had an ability to score goals, and then he joined Wigan, and did sod all. I was so excited when he signed, thought he’d score 20-25 in that championship season. How wrong was I? I understand he had a good loan spell at Huddersfield, but how many goals did he actually score there? I don’t believe he reached his previous levels. He is clearly past his best as a goal scorer. Goodbye !

All these anti Holt opinions are based on 10 starts. Yet Villa a step up were prepared to loan him for the Premier League up a level. Huddersfield were also prepared a sideways move and again Wolves up a level. The lad was ruined at Latics by Coyle and Rosler.

                                I was referring to Holt.
