31 October 2015 at 7:22 pm #145520Do you all not find it strange that Holt was loaned out despite the manager saying only two weeks or so ago that he was not going to be loaned out?

If its about wages, in the grand scheme of things, surely having a player who (clearly, because he has been loaned to Wolves) is Championship standard, is better for the club than saving a few quid for two months?
The club will come out with some bullshit cock and bull story and the ‘Sheep’ will go along with it! :)
31 October 2015 at 9:17 pm #145521Would have liked to have seen Grant up front winning balls, holding up the play and laying the ball off for Grigg with Wildshutt on the wing. Alas no it’s about cash and cash alone.
31 October 2015 at 10:15 pm #145525….or perhaps its about giving the lad some play time, knowing he is at least 3rd or 4th in the batting order for a start at No. 9.
If you had bothered to look at the reason Wolves have took him on a two month emergency loan, you would have known that they have a shed load of forwards injured. I’m not sure this loan confirms either way that he is good enough or not to play in the Championship, it ticks as big empty box that Wolves have hold of.
I’m also not sure why people think its about money, when we’ve been paying him for the best part of a year for sitting in the treatment room. :woohoo:

What a journey!31 October 2015 at 10:46 pm #145526We have four strikers Grigg Davies McKay and Holt. Two of these are out on loan. Lose either Davies or Grigg again and we are relying on Huddersfield’s Hiwula our loaned striker. It is perhaps as well Gary prefers the one out and out striker option but what happens if any of our attacking midfielders ie Wildshutt Jacobs etc are injured we will be pretty light weight up top.

Not when I spoke with him he didn’t.
1 November 2015 at 1:01 am #145528He never seems to start games with two though.
1 November 2015 at 1:12 am #145529Grigg and Wildschut?
1 November 2015 at 1:26 am #145530Sorry but Wildshutt is a winger which I don’t think is an out and out striker.
Love to see Grigg and Davies with Wildshut.
Can’t complain though as we keep getting the results.1 November 2015 at 2:08 am #145533Wildschut plays as a striker on the team sheet.
Yes we may change formation during the game, that’s a good thing.
1 November 2015 at 3:32 am #145536Good riddance, to one of the biggest flops this club has ever had… A very expensive burden to the club, just hope Wolves pay his full wages.
That award must go to a certain Mr Boseli. Think Holty had the misfortune to get injured then his face didn’t fit with Herr Rosler then injured again. Just making a comeback and now he doesn’t fit into the wage policy at Latics. Wait till January and Barnet McGann and Cowie will be gone too.
Now I disagree about Boseli, he didn’t do much for us, granted, but that was the formation we had that didn’t do him any favours. Boseli was a player that needed a partner up front, but we used him as a lone striker for most of his early days which did not suit him (not many others for that matter). Holt just looked unfit & shite for most of his early career with us.

You’re saying he was worse than Aghahowa, Fortune, Boselli… et al?
For me yes, Holt has been a bad buy. He wasn’t fit in his first season and for a big bloke won fook all in the air.
Aghahowa, now that is a very good point! He was crap, remember one game and he was clean through on goal at the DW (shooting towards the south stand) and he kicked the floor rather than the ball… PMSL even now about that..
1 November 2015 at 2:44 pm #145546Could we just not have waited till after the Bury and Blackpool games?Bollocks to Wolves they could have waited. Good luck Holty you are a model pro to have reached Championship fitness levels after such a bad injury.

Good luck Holty you are a model pro to have reached Championship fitness levels after such a bad injury. If Championship fitness levels involves being able to jump no more than three inches off the ground, have the touch and finesse of an African bull elephant and the turning circle of a very large oil tanker, then I agree.
1 November 2015 at 3:50 pm #145548Any chance of borrowing your keep net Fill?
1 November 2015 at 4:55 pm #145549Could the Holt loan move also coincide that this guy is almost ready to return from injury…
