My brother works at Heinz and I can confirm that he and his family were all given free tickets to attend the Harlequins game. Indeed he confirmed that the whole of Heinz had free tickets given away to them.
      Hope that helps

The whole of Wigan knew that. Heinz bought the tickets from Wigan. Wigan didn’t give any tickets away.
Some Heinz workers decided to ask for the tickets then proceed to rip them up in front of their colleagues. Very mature.

You are obviously well upto speed on all things rugby related.
You know the St Georges Day game was a marketing excerice were a couple of sponsors were given tickets as part of a package so they were technically purchased. Don’t you think the rugby would do similar every game if it was such a money generator?
You also know the Community Day saw a couple of thousand players and their families take in the game with complimentary tickets.
It’s like those discussion about professional footballers coming from Wigan which descend into farce because some rugby fans won’t given an inch of ground to Latics fans.
You have to conclude some rugby fans really do believe only a couple of thousand Wiganers watch Latics while there is something in Wiganers DNA preventing them from playing professional football.

The fact still stands that Wigan haven’t given any tickets away.
Those people who believe only a couple thousand Wiganers watch Latics share a brain cell. Same goes for the people who genuinely believe that 99% of Wigan fans live in Preston and Chorley.
We’d all love both Wigan and Latics to be full of local lads but it’s difficult, sometimes virtually impossible. You have to sign, pick and play the best you can and if that means signing a quality forward from Honduras or Albania over some donkey from Beech Hill then so be it.

The tickets were given away. Most of my family got them free. This is a fact. After proving this to you ( unless you are calling me a liar ) you now seem a little shy of admitting that you are wrong even though I have proved me wrong.

You have also changed your argument to add the words not given away ‘by Wigan’ on the end

Heinz bought a sponsorship deal. Three months into the season the rugby club decided to give them 5,000 tickets as part of that deal. No price was ever given for these tickets. Find me one and might be able to dig yourself out of this embarassing hole you have climbed into.

No other deal has been offered to any sponsor at any other game on such a grand scale and after initially announcing that the club were giving the tickets to Heinz they were subsequently at great pains to point out that they had been bought as part of a deal. They were then given away. Does this not strike you as odd?

Whom do you think instigated this deal with no price? Do you believe Heinz rang up and said we’ll buy 5,000 for your worst attended game of the season or do you think that someone from Wigan Warriors rang up Heinz and said ‘We need to fill 5,000 seats, why don’t we just give you a load of tickets to give out free as a one off and we call it part of the sponsorship deal. Try and answer this honestly.

Why are you so defensive Pembertonian? What name do you post under on RLfans? You are as transparent as your beloved rugby club’s attempts to claim they are selling tickets they have given away with your ultra defensive nature concerning the rugby club.

Just like your silly little friend who did a runner last week, you seem well versed in RL matters but post not a single thing about Latics and the club’s history. You’re a rugby snide and fooling no-one

Put up or shut up. Show us all the price of these tickets or lose your credibility

Try and give us a fact as you seem fond of them rather than the spin your club has put on it

It’s a fact? How have you proved it? So your brother says so and it’s a fact?
The fact still remains that Wigan didn’t give away any tickets. The fact still remains that you haven’t proven otherwise. If you buy tickets for a Latics game then give them to friends and family, does that mean the club gave away the tickets?

Defensive? Me stating facts, things that really happened doesn’t equate to being defensive. There’s nothing to defend. You ask me for facts and claim my cockneylatic credibilty is at stake  Yet the only fact you’ve offered up is proven to be true because your brother said so. Have a word with yourself, seriously. It’s an internet forum, nothing more, nothing less.
Unlike many bandwagoners, I am perfectly happy and feel no need to constantly prove I’ve followed the Latics for years and am the biggest fan in the history of the club.

No tickets were given away. Of course, if you can prove otherwise and back up your claim then I’ll gladly admit I’m wrong.

I’ve proved it so admit you’re wrong. Failing that please just answer the following question, preferably in pounds and pence. It’s not a difficult one:

How much did the people sat in the North Stand for the last two years’ games against Harlequins pay for their tickets?

Your brother saying so still doesn’t prove anything. If it did he’d be wanted by lawyers the world over
Considering we’ve already established that Heinz bought the tickets for their workers, I wouldn’t imagine that said workers paid a penny for them.
Did Wigan receive any money for the north stand tickets for the Harlequins game?

If I wanted to be a **** I could slag off everything the rugby are doing and give them no credit.

I haven’t because they have done some great targeted marketing on a selection of games. This is something I hope Latics replicate when the new Chief Executive takes up his position.

Hiding behind technicalities to justify your ‘no free tickets’ stance is a necessity on your part as some rugby fans have slated Latics for similar initiatives.

By giving even an inch of ground you’d label a whole host of rugby fans hypocritical.

You praised the rugby club for their marketing and it’s true that the Latics could take note and use similar techniques and ideas. I don’t see how this needs to be a rugby vs football thing. Surely the best thing for the town of Wigan would be big crowds for both sports week in, week out.
I’m not hiding behind technicalities when I say that Wigan didn’t give any tickets away. The fact is that the tickets were purchased from the club.
Don’t tar all Wiganers with the same brush when you talk about people knocking the Latics’ initiatives. As I’ve said, I’d much rather see both clubs pulling in big crowds on a regular basis and friends and family have taken advantage of football offers in the past and would do so if there were any more in the future.

Still no answer then? In pounds and pence please Pembertonian. Question repeated below

How much did the people sat in the North Stand for the last two years’ games against Harlequins pay for their tickets?

In terms of your question of how much Heinz paid, I don’t know. No-one knows, I have previously asked you to tell me but you seem reluctant to do so because you don’t know. all you can offer is some club flannel about marketing deals. Your attempts to liken someone buying a handful of tickets for their family to a company “apparently” buying 5,000 tickets to give away free are laughable. To all intents and purposes if it looks like bulls**t and it smells like bulls**t then we can only conclude that it is bulls**t

                        8-)

They have to take the seats with them to use on the way home as there aren’t usually any available on the train to Preston. It gets pretty packed because it’s where they all live

last year the tickets were free to Heinz staff. This year I think I remember being told they were a few quid
