Agree with most of your post but this is not the 1st time weve been toss at home….3 consecutive 0-0’s particularly the Charlton game against a team that couldn’t buy a point and with a long injury list. Wev’e been very average in quite a few home games and another game in hand will do us no favours.Yes we are still in an enviable position but this cup tie is a distraction we could do without and I am sure Rovers and Shrewsbury can capitalise on this. What pissed me was seeing Walker sat twiddling his thumbs and Cooks post match statement that in hindsight he was maybe too loyal and should have made changes !! Too right….. Massey needs to sit on his arse ,Jacobs looks ready for another holiday break Burn looked goosed and as soon as Colclough is fit should be straight in .Where is Cole ?..Take it he’s knackered cos we defo need a plan b and we don’t at present have one. This lumping it up to a big man never works does it ??? Blackpool may have a different opinion.Cook now needs to bare his teeth and rip into them cos on that performance and a few others at home we may well be arsing around in the play offs come May.
14 February 2018 at 12:54 pm #166410I thought the home jitters had been put to bed. The first half performance against Gillingham was probably one of our best halves of the season probably because we were taking it to them and playing with pace. Gills were dead on form too.
Second half wasn’t so great when the new signings were introduced and don’t think they would have made any difference if they had started last night either.14 February 2018 at 1:12 pm #166411Second half wasn’t so great when the new signings were introduced and don’t think they would have made any difference if they had started last night either.I don’t know why it should be but if a couple have poor games then the whole team seem to go to pieces. It’s as though it’s infectious. Very rarely do you see a game (and I’m including non-Latics games here) where half a team have stinkers and the other half are playing out of their skins.

It wasn’t the fact we lost last night thats the concern. Its how we lost.
Conceded two shocking goals where the defence had plenty of chance to clear the ball. Sunday league defending.
Our response? Not much. Did their keeper have to do anything? We laboured, had an increased pressure spell at start of second half, but never really threatened. We were so poor. If I hadn’t already got City tickets, I think I wouldnt bother. I’m dreading it big time. And it’ll be freezing, like last night.
14 February 2018 at 1:40 pm #166413Apologies if this has already been said but out of the last five home league games we’ve failed to score in four of them. That has to be a cause for concern.
14 February 2018 at 1:47 pm #166414Apart from Coleclough for Massey that was the same team that played probably the best 45 mins I’ve seen us play this season – the first half against Gillingham. They were excellent against an in form team.Hopefully its a blip and once the City game is out of the way we’ll get back on track again.
As for Morsy the fact he has 9 bookings prior to last night shows what type of player he is but both him and Cook showed a distinct lack of brains last night.
When it was clear we weren’t going to pull it back Cook should have taken him off but then to get yourself booked after 88 mins for mouthing off shows he must be pretty stupid in my humble opinion.
We need to not get battered next Monday and we needed Sam in the centre of the midfield.
Scoreline anyone ????
Morsy was booked for a foul, which I thought was warranted, then he started mouthing off.
14 February 2018 at 1:48 pm #166415Some people really need to give their heads a wobble. I wouldn’t want to have to go to war with any of you.
So we’ve lost our last 2. We were unbeaten in about 12 before that. Yes we should be well clear at the top but we aren’t. What we still have however is our fate in our own hands. We may be behind now but with the games in hand the pressure is still firmly on the other sides. Shrewsbury have been playing well above themselves this season and yet could STILL find themselves behind us. When we have caught the games back up, lets see where we are.
I don’t know what it is about Wiganers. If we don’t win 4-0 we get booed off. If we lose we get booed off. Never seem to be happy. That goes for the rugby lot as well.
We aren’t going to win every game this season but I still have complete faith that we will go up as Champions. Our last 2 displays are clearly due to the City game so once that is out the way we will be sorted.
14 February 2018 at 1:54 pm #166417Rubbish egg. Cook needs to go now. He cant work with gary cook. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
14 February 2018 at 2:56 pm #166420No he’s not lost it and it sounds like last night’s game was just like the Southend game a static defence waiting for something to happen rather than clearing the decks, I never look at games in hand as we might not win any of them so we are were we are second and I’ll take that right now as our finishing position For the season.
14 February 2018 at 4:39 pm #166431The games coming up, the games in hand are a concern…
Bradford….new manager Grayson.
Bristol Rovers..in good form
Rochdale… God awful pitch.
Bury… Always awkward
Blackburn…in good form
Oxford.. Gonna put 10 behind ball.Hello play offs, then.
14 February 2018 at 4:41 pm #166432Rochdale have replayed the pitch
14 February 2018 at 4:45 pm #166433Rochdale have replayed the pitchDid the first game against the pitch end in a draw then? ;)
14 February 2018 at 4:48 pm #166435Yes. 0-0.
They won the replay 1-0 after a controversial goal involving a divot.
14 February 2018 at 5:03 pm #166438They may have relayed it this week, to appease Pochettino and his concerns, but if they honestly think they can lay it this week and play on it Sunday, they are deluded.
I bet it breaks up and cuts up big time. No way will it have settled.
14 February 2018 at 5:10 pm #166440Maybe not, but we don’t play them until April so I’m not too arsed how it looks Sunday really.
