I’m really not going to go on more about this, except to point out that (as an HR professional :) ) I go to source documents, not the site of some third party, particularly one that has a one-sided view for their advice.
The relevant paragraph quoted, article 18.4 of the FIFA regulations, only answers the second hypothetical question posed in the Players’ union site.
“The validity of a contract may not be made subject to a successful
medical examination and/or the grant of a work permit.”No mention of injury. And we’re not talking about the validity of a contract. No-one is arguing it’s not valid – but can it be unilaterally terminated? The answer is, like all contracts, yes. The only issue is the amount of compensation.
However – let’s just agree to disagree, before one of us dies :)

Only thing in that I can see to be contraversial is using “an” instead of “a”.
“An” is of course the correct term before “H” (aitch).

Or have I missed your point? :)
