I thought there were loads of responses to this thread, have they all been deleted?
Good on you for resurrecting it anyway LHL as opinions on things like this should be allowed to be viewed.

It’s funny how threads get locked or cleared when some on here don’t agree with the content even though it’s not abusive or racially motivated.

I have to admit though RM is doing better than I thought he would, but there is a long way to go yet.

I don’t think they will finish in the bottom four, but at the end of the season I reckon their points tally could be nearer the club fourth from bottom than the Champions. Time will tell.

The original thread is still there with more than 200 responses. I don’t know why LHL has started a new one. It seems even more ludicrous now than it did before.

Everton did OK second half today.

They’ll finish top half I’m sure.

It is still there, but it appears to have been locked, so maybe LHL has started a new one as a justifiable protest, but don’t worry Barnsley, I am sure it will soon be locked again once a certain couple of posters see it.

Cheers HORC, power to the people !
It’s good to debate all things Latics & football; whether or not that includes topics on our past players, managers; because they have contributed to our history. Let’s assume that young Nicholls one day moves to a big club and keeps goal for England; can we not debate & discuss his performances or potential because he is no longer a Tic ? I think not !

I’m sure the mods can tell us why the thread was locked.

It was probably to save some posters from further embarrassment.

However, it was a very long thread – that could be another reason.

I’m not sure where you are coming from regarding embarrassment as over 200 replies were made on the original thread by virtually every poster on the board and I didn’t really see any poster embarrassing themselves. There may have been a few tongue in cheek remarks but that’s to be expected.
As for the length of thread surely that is a positive as there are not that many threads that generate that much interest.
May be the mods will let LHL know why his original thread was locked.

has Everton at the wrong end of the table ?

With performances like today, very, very soon. Bobby has had his fair share of luck in the games I’ve seen and heard so far this season.

Spurs looked like Barcelona passing their way through the Everton’s midfield.

I think connections from both Mersey-side clubs are far too over optimistic of where they will finish in the EP league this season. Fair enough the clubs officials have to be optimistic, but I really do think that both sets of supporters are totally deluded, if they feel their teams are good enough for CL football.

            My prediction;

            Liverpool 8th, Everton 14th.[/quote]

Sorry JR but I think you are the one who is deluded…

Your prediction of a 14th place finish stems from spite rather than the fact Everton have lost one game all season and had a great 2nd half against spurs.

Do you not think spurs passing it around through the midfield like Barca has a lot more to do with the fact they are a a really good team with a good manager rather than anything Roberto did?

Put your dummy back in you are showing yourself up.

I didn’t really see any poster embarrassing themselves.

Have you read the title of the thread?

Looks like the goal conceding virus has checked in at Goodison.

Looks like another bad day for the Bobsessives.

This still is the original thread with the title that was aimed at getting plenty of bites and it certainly has done that !

Wigan were out of their financial depth in the Premier League, just as Everton are the poor relations at the top of the table. In financial terms, they rank with Fulham, Sunderland and Aston Villa.

Everton sold Fellaini for £27 million and bought McCarthy for £13 million. Spurs sold Bale for £85 million. Their team included Soldado (£26m) and Paulinho (£17m) while the players sitting on the bench cost £78 million!

Spurs clearly had the better of the first half. Vertonghen and Lennon were dangerous on Spurs’ left side, and Mirallas did little to support Coleman. Even so, Spurs didn’t really test Howard. In the second half, Martinez sent McCarthy to support Coleman and Everton came strongly into the game. Both sides made positive substitutions and continued to attack until the 99th minute.

Slipped down to a respectable seventh, and there for at least another two weeks.

But that doesn’t get Everton Champions League football which Bobby has promised BK. Perhaps that goal will just keep being pushed to the right on the calender year on year.

You don’t really want to discuss the candidates for the Champions League, do you?

You just want to pour ridicule on Martinez and wind up a few people who respected his efforts when he was here.

It’s sad to see this site reduced to such a low level.
