I think you’re saying that Moyes could get more out of the players he bought than Martinez will be able to do.
That wouldn’t be particularly damning. Do you think Moyes will be able to get more out the players Ferguson bought than Ferguson did?
The question that worries me is; will Coyle be able to create a successful team using the nine players that he has bought, plus the Premier League midfield he inherited?

In a way I am saying that RM is not the next big thing in the World of football management and that I fear he may be a little out of his depth at Everton with the expectation of their fans !
27 August 2013 at 3:04 pm #119930The Everton fans expect Everton (wage bill £62 million) to perform better than Liverpool (wage bill £127 million).
They may well be disappointed.
Figures – the latest published – come from 2011/12 season. Wigan had to manage on £37 million.
28 August 2013 at 2:24 am #119966Well I am positive that Everton will not be in the top 8 this season ! If they lose Baines and Fellaini they wont even finish in the top half ![/quote
I think it was a massive gamble from Martinez to follow Moyes. Lets face it Everton had a fantastic season last time but there is no where else they can go now.Its not Evertons fault that the other clubs are spending money like crazy and they will probably finish a lot lower down the table this time out.SAF would struggle to keep the Toffees up there and like others have said if Baines and Fellaini go then they may have a real struggle on their hands.Unlike us the Everton fans will not afford him time to get it right and if he has a few nightmare results like he did here then heaven help him.He would have been wiser to stay here one more season in my opinion but who knows? he may just crack it,we will see.

1 September 2013 at 6:07 pm #120312An Everton supporting pal of mine can’t actually remember Kone touching the ball yet during his substitute appearances he has made.
I am sure once he settles in and gets a proper run in the team he will do alright for them. Whether he is good enough to displace Jelavic or Anchibe remains to be seen.4 September 2013 at 2:35 am #120551Tick Tock, Tick Tock; two more places to go !This post is set to run !
Next up Chelski.
Don’t think Bob’s new signings will save him. He could sign 10 strikers and still only play with one up front ( mind you, Lukaka is a good un ), Barry is pants and Macca is not as effective ( careful choice of word here ) as Fellani. So it’s bottom four on Saturday at 16:50pm4 September 2013 at 2:43 am #120552Tick Tock, Tick Tock; two more places to go !

Thank Christ for that, John ;)
4 September 2013 at 4:04 pm #120568To paraphrase the IT Crowd, an Everton fan told me that they tried to walk it in the last game he saw !
5 September 2013 at 3:50 am #120613Feck me we have some whoppers on here. I can 100% guarantee that Roberto would want us to get promoted this season, yet people can’t wait to see him fall on his arse.

Good post-Martinez had an eye for hidden talent and I bet a few more scouts are up in Scotland after the fee received for .
Coyle seems very shrewd though and has gone up in my estimation with his tough stance and to only lose one player on deadline day says a lot about his man management. -
