This thread is for everyone who has an interest in the fortunes of our former manager and players.
Everton have the best defensive record in the league, so apparently Roberto does understand defence after all.

Nothing to do with Baines,Distin,Jagielka and Coleman ! All very good defenders, 3 of which have represented their respective countries ! The one who for some strange reason hasn’t received a call up from his country has played in more than 400 Premiership games, more than any other foreign outfield player ! ;)
1 January 2014 at 12:58 am #125507Now I know you don’t like to give any credit to Roberto. Perhaps he was clever enough to leave the Everton defence alone.
Meanwhile, Moyes inherited the team that won the Premier League by eleven points. They are now eight points behind the leaders.
1 January 2014 at 5:09 am #125510You are all coming in your pants too early.
Bobby inherited a team who finished 6th in the EPL last season. If he gets them to a higher finishing spot this season, then well done Roberto. If not, then he has just maintained the standards that the current pish poor Man Utd manager you are referring to, reached season after season at Goodison. The very same DM who inherited a bag of shyte.
Lets wait and see what RM does shall we. B)

The only ones “coming in their pants” are those who can’t wait to see him fail. However, I agree that, though they may be 6th now, there is indeed a long way to go. So yes, let’s wait and see where he finishes. I bet a pound to a pinch of shit that it’s nearer to 6th than the bottom four place that started this thread.
That said, I’m not that arsed where they finish. You lot carry on “coming in your pants” though. Glad to see 2014 has seen us all grow up a bit already. Not.
1 January 2014 at 3:13 pm #125515Happy New Year to everybody keeping an eye on Roberto’s career.
I think some of us are going to have a very upsetting season. Too bad.
And congratulations – we’ve just clocked up 10,000 views too!

I still can’t understand why, after 4 months and a week, over 500 post and 10,000 views some people on this thread still haven’t quite grasped the meaning behind it.
The title is, ‘How long before Bottom Four Bob?’
The first post by the author then went on to say, ‘ Has Everton at the wrong end of the table’
It wasn’t stated at the outset they would finish in the ‘bottom four’, he was just wondering how long it might be that he has them where he is used to being, at the wrong end of the table.
Bottom four Bob was actually a nickname that we had been using for some time to describe Bob due to the fact that we spent most of his time in charge in the bottom four
I think it was originally meant as a tongue in cheek post and was meant to be taken very lightly, but it gathered momentum and has kept on going and going such is the feeling toward Mr Martinez one way or another.
The thread has actually raked up some very interesting and good posts over the last 4 months and kept quite a few people on here very busy at times and also kept some quite amused.
Long may it continue and it might just one day evolve into, ‘How long before Bottom Four Bob’
…….’Has Barcelona at the wrong end of the table’.2 January 2014 at 12:49 am #125525You are all coming in your pants too early.

By using the phrases “Bottom Four” and “Wrong end of the table” it was perfectly clear that the author (your word, not mine!) was implying that Bob would take Everton into the bottom four. And no amount of back-tracking months later on the part of the Preston Brains Trust will get you out of it.
I’m not surprised it’s kept some of you amused.I would have thought it would have needed something much smaller to keep some of your minds amused.
2 January 2014 at 3:10 am #125536No back tracking from me Griff, none what so ever. I was merely just stating the point that the title of the thread and the first post indicated something different than what you and others thought it meant. Maybe there was a subliminal message in there, who knows.
If you decide to look into a comment deeper and make it read what you want it to read then so be it.
Like I say, no back tracking at all, I still hope he fails as badly at Everton as he did with us.
I do realise its probably unlikely as he inherited a better set of players and has also borrowed a quarter of his team from other clubs.

Great post Horc, got your point of view over without the need to make childish insults towards others on here who may have a different view, well done.

What a journey!2 January 2014 at 4:39 am #125542How long before Bottom Four Bob has Everton at the wrong end of the table ?Tick Tock, Tick Tock; two more places to go ! This post is set to run !Next up Chelski. Don’t think Bob’s new signings will save him. So it’s bottom four on Saturday at 16:50pmProbably a better chance of us being in the bottom 4 before Bob Tick Tock
Yip he beat a big club today but be prepared for him drawing against the likes of Cardiff, West Brom, Norwich and struggle to beat Stevenage in the cup…..oh he already has done??, come on lad if you heard the commentary on 5 live coming home from Leicester, Chelsea should have been 6 nil up at half time. tock fekin tick. :P[/quote]
No back tracking?
LostockHallLatic thought it wouldn’t take long. He even set the clock ticking!

Correct. Yet, apparently, it’s us that can’t read and interpret the original post properly.
