No back tracking from me Griff, none what so ever. I was merely just stating the point that the title of the thread and the first post indicated something different than what you and others thought it meant. Maybe there was a subliminal message in there, who knows.
If you decide to look into a comment deeper and make it read what you want it to read then so be it.
Like I say, no back tracking at all, I still hope he fails as badly at Everton as he did with us.
I do realise its probably unlikely as he inherited a better set of players and has also borrowed a quarter of his team from other clubs.
Great post Horc, got your point of view over without the need to make childish insults towards others on here who may have a different view, well done.

Spot on JR. The Martinez detractors on here by and large only point their insults in one direction – BFB himself. However, the response to this tends to be insults back at the detractors themselves.
Anyhows – back to the ambiguous topic itself: it appears an ex-Wigan player thwarted a 3rd defeat very late in the day. Not unlike what he’d done to us under Bob a couple of times. A great fight back by Everton (as Bob and the media have made it out to be)? Or perhaps signs of a bit of a wobble given the defeat to Sunderland a couple of games back?
20 January 2014 at 5:56 pm #126123has Everton at the wrong end of the table ?Don’t know, but he seems to be holding his own against the teams up at the right end of the table, according to this little BBC graphic from this morning that was having a bit of a pop at United.
Not too shabby a record against the big boys. So, as long as he doesn’t regularly start screwing up against the rest, it looks like it might be a while before Everton see the wrong end of the table.

Yes agreed and it’s been like that at Everton for many, many years, pre Martinez.

For many, many years Everton have been second best in a mini-league involving the top 8 clubs? With as much as respect as I can be arsed to muster, I’d say you’re talking utter bollocks. By all means prove me wrong though, and back it up with some facts.

What a journey!21 January 2014 at 3:31 am #126155In 46 attempts under David Moyes, Everton did not win a single league match at Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United or Liverpool.
Roberto succeeded in his very first attempt. Anfield derby coming up next.

The big problem is it’s pointless beating the likes of Arsenal if you can’t beat Sunderland at home or WBA away.
bobby managed to get the united monkey off our backs :) but then got us relegated. :(

What a journey!22 January 2014 at 1:56 am #126191Thanks for increasing the score.
Roberto has kept Everton out of the bottom four.
Everton are still competing with far wealthier clubs.
