Bob’s on the first rung of the slippery slope if he signs Beausejour.
15 May 2014 at 8:54 pm #131166I think he’ll come back for McArthur.
Wasn’t he at the QPR match?
15 May 2014 at 8:55 pm #131167Why is he it is well known that Boozy plays better with players more his level like when he plays for Chile
16 May 2014 at 1:33 am #131171Just because he was in talks with Liverpool which by the way he clearly was doesn’t mean he was offered the job ! Several close links to Liverpool football club claimed that no offer was ever made to RM including Phil Thompson and he took to Twitter to get the facts out there but it was the managing director Ian Ayre who was the one with any real substance re facts who publicly denied Whelan’s false claims that RM had been offered the job!

16 May 2014 at 2:30 am #131176Ian Ayre says one thing, Dave Whelan says another. That doesn’t make Whelan’s claim false.
Obviously, Liverpool will want to say that they got their first choice!
16 May 2014 at 1:22 pm #131182At the end of the day Liverpool got the right man for the job and after the 2 previous seasons of finishing behind Everton ( 2pts & 4pts respectively ) Rodgers has successfully turned it around and this season they finished an impressive 12pts clear of their neighbours! Rodgers had previously finished off a job that RM couldn’t complete at Swansea and this time he simply stepped in front of him rolled his sleeves up and did a job that has elevated him to the best manager in the city of Liverpool !
16 May 2014 at 3:09 pm #131190Thanks, Phil.
That’s the kind of imaginative post that we need if we’re going to get anywhere near 1,000.
Hurry folks, post your foolishness here while the thread is still open!

They don’t like it up em Mr Mainwaring! :P The reds are the talk of the town again and normality has been resumed thanks to Brendan Rodgers the best young manager in the Premier League! ;)

Why do you care?
I can understand me, as a self-confessed, outed, Man United fan being intereted in another club’s fortunes, but why are you so concerned about who is the best manager in Liverpool?

He’s just trying to salvage something from this threads loss of face
16 May 2014 at 6:55 pm #131204The reds are the talk of the town again and normality has been resumed thanks to Brendan Rodgers the best young manager in the Premier League! ;)Sorry, Phil, no bites this time. It’s been a long season – perhaps we need some fresh bait.
I wonder where the Europa League will take Martinez and Bruce. As you will recall, the competition is rather complicated. One of the two will have to qualify. If Hull win the Cup Final, Everton will have to negotiate a play-off on August 21 and 28.
If Hull are beaten, the Tigers will start in the third qualifying round, with games on July 31 and August 7 – well before the start of the Premier League on August 16.
Roberto is supporting Hull – does he realise the consequences if they win?
16 May 2014 at 10:35 pm #131211I am not trying to save anything, I am merely stating a few facts that is all! Brendan Rodgers was always Liverpool’s main choice for their next manager and he hasn’t let them down that is all!
17 May 2014 at 1:57 am #131223I am merely stating a few facts that is all!Facts, Phil? It was just something you saw in the Liverpool Echo.
You shouldn’t believe everything you read in the papers!
17 May 2014 at 5:33 am #131227I’m not in favour of locking an inoffensive thread just because some people don’t like it.
If, for some reason, it doesn’t appeal to some people, then they have a remedy in their own hands – don’t look at it.
This is a forum. If posters wish to contribute to it, then you should let them. Who knows, they may find something new to say.
And the original poster – Alasdair – has already shown his willingness to continue the debate in the new season.
You just want it to get to 1000 posts ;)
I agree though, let it continue. It’s been an amusing debate. If people aren’t at all interested, they can just ignore it.[/quote]
Absolutely no reason to lock this thread, especially not because folks are bored with it!
We have a whole new season coming up where Bob’s fortunes balancing the PL and Europe will be watched right here with some interest. Will he be able to match Coyle and have Everton on the verge of qualifying out of the group stage after just 4 games ? ;)17 May 2014 at 10:12 am #131228Roberto has left an indelible mark on Wigan’s history, while Owen’s time here will soon be forgotten.
Is that why we have a thread devoted to bringing Roberto down but none for Owen?
