JR, you sound increasingly desperate. You should try to relax.
You can imagine the conversation at a board meeting, but you can’t imagine an Everton fan saying, “Roberto, he’s quite good, isn’t he?”
He wasn’t Judas, and he isn’t likely to be the Saviour either. Despite his achievements so far, he isn’t a miracle worker – he’s a fellow human being.
17 July 2014 at 2:50 pm #132337Didn’t start this thread up and bitter and twisted are harsh adjectives from someone who doesn’t know me or the originator of this thread.
“WE” differ in opinion to you, live with it FFS!!.
I’m amazed with your inside information about what BK thinks and does, or could it be you are just surmising and making it up in order to put your argument forward on this thread? :huh:It looks very much like you and Barnsley are squirming out of the debate on the Martinez taking Everton forward, just the griffster left now.
That comment you made me pish myself laughing, can just see the Everton board and fans sitting round the boardroom table and pub tables saying, well boys what is the target for this year for our beloved footy team….mmm little voice pipes up, what about a champions league place?, all the others look at him, don’t be daft we can never qualify for that with our budget, same little voice pipes up.. what about a major trophy?, all others look round, don’t be daft our Bobbee is going to play some fringe players in the cups, save the legs of the big boys, so we can’t win any of them….., same little voice pipes up….war-about la’s, playing some nice tippy tappy footy and going all out for a place in the top half of the premier league, say a position 7th to 11th?…all look at one another shrugging their shoulders and begrudgingly say OK, well go on then, it’s been good enough for the last 25 years……….who’s coming to Southampton.
Think about this Standish, then stop interacting with us childish, bitter, twisted little men.
Dave Whelan and the board sat round the table at the JJB , well boys, nice new stadium, semi decent team and manager, what is the realistic plan for our beloved club………………the rest as they say is history and so is Everton’s future if you, BK and all the Everton players and officials, believe that shyte you have just spouted. B)
You sound a bit rattled. Was it the ‘little’ comment that got to you? Don’t take offence. It wasn’t aimed at any particular physical attribute, and it was used purely as part of the metaphor.
But anyway, back to the debate:
Seriously, you’re not getting this are you? There’s nothing to squirm out of. Who mentioned the ‘next level’? Certainly not me. Certainly not WGTBarnsley.
Let’s put it another way, if Moyes had not left to go to United, Martinez would not be manager at Everton. Do you agree?
Everton were satisfied with Moyes, and were not pinning all their hopes on going to ‘the next level’ because they simply do not have the money to do that. Do you agree, or do you think Everton have the resources to finish above Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs every season?
Then the respected and highly rated Moyes leaves, and Martinez comes in. But, the fans are unhappy because they wanted a bigger name to attract better players, so Kenwright tells them how ambitious Martinez is by claiming the new manager has designs on getting them into the Champions League.
What was Martinez good at at Wigan? Getting his team to play attractive football, building a decent squad with limited resources, and developing the youth: exactly what Everton needed.
By now surely you realise that what’s said to the football media for the benefit of the gullible has absolutely no bearing on what is said behind closed doors?
So, this fabled ‘next level’ was only ever brought up by the bitter and twisted men (I’ve removed the word ‘little’ – is that better?) on this thread who are willing Martinez to fail and think a measure of that failure is Everton not getting into the top four.
I agree with you in that if Whelan had had no ambition Wigan would never have reached the Premier League. But you can’t compare that plan from twenty years ago to having an ambition today to compete on an even keel with football clubs that are backed by billionaire owners.
17 July 2014 at 3:15 pm #132338Out of interest is this debate ever likely to end at some point this season (which hasn’t even started yet), or will it continue until martinez leaves EFC to embark upon a new challenge.
17 July 2014 at 3:33 pm #132339Out of interest is this debate ever likely to end at some point this season (which hasn’t even started yet), or will it continue until martinez leaves EFC to embark upon a new challenge.I suspect it will eventually close and a ‘How Long Before Bottom Four Bob Has Barcelona At the Wrong End Of The Table’ thread will be started….
17 July 2014 at 5:36 pm #132340The Bobsessives don’t let go easily.
Rather than fighting against relegation last season, Roberto ended up playing for a place in Europe.
So Bottom Four Bob has now become One Season Wonder!
Midweek European matches are something new for Roberto – as they are for Brendan Rogers and Steve Bruce too. Let’s see how Roberto gets on. Perhaps Robles, Alcaraz and Kone will get a chance to play. As I’ve said, winning the Europa League would be an alternative way for Everton to gain a place in the Champions League.
Last year, Liverpool were spared the burden of European games, and had a much-improved season in the league. This year, Manchester United and Tottenham will not be playing the extra midweek games. They both start under new managers, and I expect them to improve on their league performances of last season.
17 July 2014 at 6:12 pm #132343That comment you made me pish myself laughingYou do realise there’s no profanity filter on this forum, don’t you? Come on, it’s OK, you can say “piss”, we’re all grown-ups here. Well, almost.
17 July 2014 at 10:17 pm #132346Maybe he’ll ( R.M ) will be a one season wonder ! Pity it wasn’t at Wigan, where he was a one game wonder. Anyway, I’ll thank him for that one special game and that’s were my love ends for Judas !
Grow up, for God’s sake. Do you realise how pathetic you sound for a supposedly grown man?[/quote]
I’m with Lostock Hall Geezer on this one. Griff is the pathetic one who can’t see that Lostock is merely posing another question about Bob’s potential future success and giving his opinion on his prior success at the Latics. Are we not entitled to freedom of opinion without being bullied by Griff’s self opinionated motor mouth and bullying ego ?

No I meant to say pish, it’s a medical term for splitting ones sides at someone with brown smelly stuff at the end of their nose. B)
Grown up? coming from a middle aged bloke using an avatar of himself in full kit wanker mode, [your right about that profanity filter].
I bet your lad can’t get his school photo on your mantlepiece for photos of you in various latics kits or in intimate poses with Roberto Martinez. :lol:I think that’s all 3 of you blown out the water on this debate, if that’s all you can muster up as a response.
You seem to do that a lot Griff, argue your bollocks off, then just pull people up on spelling mistakes or call them childish if they don’t come to your way of thinking.
Bring on Rochdale and lets have a look at Don Cowie. :)

18 July 2014 at 12:57 am #132357Your sounding a little angry JROff to Lanzer on Monday for 11 neets so plenty time away from footy banter.
Have you ever sat and thought it might all be a bit of fun?.
Incompetent people at work occasionally make me angry and the wife now and again when she gets a mood on, but this football forum and posters?, I come on here to chill out.

Are we not entitled to freedom of opinion without being bullied by Griff’s self opinionated motor mouth and bullying ego ?I merely pointed out that this: “that’s were my love ends for Judas !” is a very, very childish and pathetic thing to say. And it is, no matter what you might think. And I don’t actually care what you think either, as I have said a million times. Haven’t you got that yet?
Bullying? I’m surprised most of you thick twats can even spell it

But go on, I’ll resist and keep it short like you.

How and where have you blown anyone out of the water?
