I thought Magennis had probably his best game for us yesterday with 24 touches its usually 6, although the rest of his stats showed, no goals, no assists, no shots at goal, no headers at goal, no dribbles, 2 offsides, no tackles won, 2 headers won, 9 passes made out of 13, 1 touch made in the opposition box.

Yet he’ll start the next game, does Maloney read those stats?
I’ll say it again, Magennis and Humphrys should be nowhere near the squad stick them with the U23s.

I’m generally a happy clapper and I understand why Maloney plays Magennis, we’ve literally nobody else at the moment.
But yesterday he was more of a hindrance to us with his loose passes setting up Shrewsbury’s attack, and offsides stopping our attacks.I think we’ve played better and lost this season, but its good to see we’ve got a lot of fight in the team.
And my last thoughts I thought Kerr was outstanding in that last 20-25 mins “backs against the wall” against Shrewsbury but I’ve a feeling he’ll be left out against Cheltenham this Friday simply because Maloney doesn’t see it like the rest of us and he loves a “chop n change” for the sake of it
He’s at it again regarding Fridays horrendous first half performance, quote SM

A what ?? Wtf on this planet is an uncontrolled game ???

So by the sounds of it the players are instructed to play 20 passes but don’t go forward because that’s were the opposition players hang out so don’t go near them and he’s taught our players to be sh!t scared of the opposition.
Maloney is breeding player fear, the fear to go forward and take players on. No risk and reward football just simple belt braces and safety pin football and take no chances full stop.
His tactics and style of football is all about don’t take risk, keep hold keep passing even if it’s 20 passes of nothing
Well I thought I’d never say it be we have a sh!t scared toothless manager who’s simply not good enough and his tactics style breeds fear and mistakes!
Sadly I’m dumbstruck by that interview. Sounds like a sketch from Monty Python. Wtf is he smoking ?…Tonight is a big one for him. Another pathetic,toothless performance like so many recently and even the diehard Maloney groupies may start to turn. Praying for another big Bolton performance unfortunately can’t see anything other than a defeat if that interview is his mindset.
I’ve thought for a couple of months now that SM really “talks up” the opposition to the point where he makes them sound like Real Madrid. It’s no wonder that our team have an over cautious approach.
For the Bolton game I’d be saying we have nowt to loose, whereas Bolton could be having a touch of the jitters; so lets’ give it our all and play a high tempo game and make it nervy & difficult for them.On the other hand SM could be saying, don’t worry if we loose; Saturday is a more important six pointer and since Fleetwood are World beaters we need to save ourselves for that encounter
Evatt has come out today and said he might have to change tactics and be more direct and physical because of the state of the pitch, so basically he will adapt to the conditions which is a fair comment.
If Maloney sticks to his philosophy of playing the so called correct way playing it out from the back, midfield sat in with Hughes and Kerr nice and deep, 20 passes before we contemplate attacking and going over the half way line and our pitch is awful we’ll come unstuck, unstuck in the mud.Every factor has to be taken into consideration, conditions and injuries from both sides but I’ve a feeling Maloney will stick to his guns regardless even if the pitch looks like something off Takeshi’s Castle.
If we don’t adapt and carry on trying to play the Pep way on a farmers field pitch we’ll get done there’s no too ways about it.
Both Smiths in midfield for me and Humphrys and Magennis and Kelman and take it to the f**kers on the long ball counter attacking break no 20 passes.

Better performance last night, because we pushed out in the first half and restricted their chances. In the second half, we started to revert to type and Bolton were starting to get on top; then a breakaway goal took the wind out of their sails.
Need to win on Saturday and build some momentum for a good finish to the season.And one season with no money, a team of kids, a bunch of players on big contracts and a minus 8 start doesn’t make a bad manager just because we don’t make the play offs or play like Prime Brazil every week
