He was withdrawn from Portsmouth’s squad for a friendly, which could be a good sign.
After just watching his goals from last season on YouTube, I really hope we get him. The variety of different type of goals, shots, headers, tap ins, screamers and clever finishes, reminded me of Nathan Ellington at his best. His calm finish against Sunderland at Wembley when he lobbed the keeper, was the pick.
He looks like he could be a great signing. Lets hope it happens this week.
14 July 2019 at 2:20 pm #179593It’s a gamble and a lot of money for a player who’s stepping up a level., I’m all for it.
I’d sooner take a chance and spend the money on a young, hungry, improving player taking the step up in class rather than say likes of a Stewart Downing at Blackburn who’ll be on extortionate wages. At least we stand a chance of making some good money, that’s if he improves and keeps the goals coming.
Reading between the lines the balls in our court and were getting the same treatment we gave Sunderland ,

What a journey!15 July 2019 at 4:43 pm #179603Beltin news!
We are close to getting that right back from Forest as well, is it Darikwa? Their fans are spitting feathers about it…which is always a good sign about a player.
Its all coming to now, isnt it?

I wouldn’t say their fans are “all” pished off. Theres alot of mixed feelings with some saying cant cross a ball or slow and some saying get whatever you can for him.
So yes there is some feather and dummy spitting. Theres more not arsed than are15 July 2019 at 4:47 pm #179605Its a weird one that Forrest rumour. Are they letting that Darikwa go and replace him with 35 year old Alan Hutton? I know which one I’d prefer in those two having seen the comments made by Forrest fans over this.

What a journey!15 July 2019 at 5:27 pm #179606It is coming to! In cook we trust. Now let’s go get a striker (or 2!).
15 July 2019 at 7:28 pm #179609Pretty sure everyone said on another thread that they didn’t want him
15 July 2019 at 9:03 pm #179610Lots said grab what you can for him. As for strikers ?, are we still in for Leon (Tony Jacklin) Clarke ?. I hope Cooks forgot
15 July 2019 at 9:26 pm #179611Pretty sure everyone said on another thread that they didn’t want himI wasnt keen at first, due to the 3 mil price tag. It seemed nonsensical to sign a league one player for that, after letting Grigg go not so long ago.
However, having had a look at him and the goals he scored last season, I am in favour. As I say, he seems more of an Ellington type, and thats what we need.
15 July 2019 at 11:12 pm #179612Not seen anything concrete to confirm it yet, so let’s not get too excited.
Lowe, Robinson, a decent right back, another striker (not Clarke) and maybe a centre half and that should give us a decent squad to build around.15 July 2019 at 11:22 pm #179613Not seen anything concrete to confirm it yet, so let’s not get too excited.
