All down to medical tests not being able to be completed in time.
31 January 2020 at 10:46 pm #184542This doesn’t sit right. The club would be aware of all the requirements of the transfer. There will be signings announced tonight that have the paperwork signed but still pending medicals and other stuff.
How does the club deal with the boy now? Absolutely gutted for him. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!31 January 2020 at 11:16 pm #184545For a start this is about Italian federation rules, not ours.
And who knows why they needed more tests?
Maybe there was something that showed up that they needed to clear first?31 January 2020 at 11:30 pm #184547For a start this is about Italian federation rules, not ours.

Maybe there was something that showed up that they needed to clear first? It wouldn’t suprise me if Milan knew about the extra medicals all along and probably thought we would buckle under the pressure if they then tried to revert to a loan move with a view to signing him in the summer if the extra medicals were alright and things worked out with the player.
This is only a made up scenario by me, but It all seems very strange and if it is anything like that, then well done Latics for standing up to them.31 January 2020 at 11:35 pm #184550I’m with you on this on Horc! Milan knew about the additional test/medicals – so why fly Robinson out there today knowing that the other medical stuff would take 72 hours???
If they didn’t think of that and they are Italian “giants” then it shows that bigger clubs than ours are badly managed – so why should we complain!!!
1 February 2020 at 12:20 am #184556Pioli out!!
1 February 2020 at 3:45 am #184558Windass to Sheff Weds on loan.
A defender and striker in from Brighton and a winger in from Bournemouth.
1 February 2020 at 5:55 am #18455923:38 – Alex Dobre [Bournemouth – Wigan] Loan
23:30 – Leon Balogun [Brighton – Wigan] Loan
23:30 – Jan Mlakar [Brighton – Wigan] Loan
23:00 – Josh Windass [Wigan – Sheffield Wednesday] Loan
1 February 2020 at 7:03 am #184560So we lose Josh who should have been playing ahead of any of our hopeless attacking mids, bring in a striker when we have two plus our own youngsters but Cook only plays with one striker. Bring in a young winger when Cook doesnt play with wingers again to leave our own youngsters out.
Probably only the defender needed. Three loanees all signed at the death all managed medicals I presume.
All very uninspiring.1 February 2020 at 11:12 am #184561Jesus Christ Donny lad. We’ve all said that our strikers are crap and we don’t score many goals. We bring in a striker and you moan.
We clearly play with wingers because we all moan every week at Massey and Lowe playing. Because they don’t take their man on and blaze a cross into the South/North stand ala Gary Teale doesn’t mean they aren’t wingers.
Windass showed in his few games that he most definitely isn’t a striker which is the position he wants to play and is why he left Rangers. His attitude is apparently poor (probably listens too much to his dad) around the place which is why he has been dropped multiple times so given the fight we are in we need people all pulling in the same direction.
As you say…we needed the defender for cover if nothing else and we still have Robinson lets just hope his head is in the right place.
We have filled the two main spots we needed to, hooefully Dobre is capable of a decent final ball unlike Massey, Lowe and Jacobs. Nobody trusted Cook with any money and we haven’t given him any, and loans seem to be the order of the day in this window, fingers crossed we have got the right people in. I never feel too confident about our business because it never goes the way I expect but at least we’ve addressed the issues.
1 February 2020 at 11:59 am #184562Windass isn’t a striker but Cook chose to play him throughout the Christmas fixtures when we had a true striker on the bench, and that worked out well!!!. Suddenly he doesn’t want him…..is that not odd ? Let’s see how these transfers pan out but unless Cook plays them where they should be playing then we’ll be able to add them to the long list of under utilised loans and transfers. Whatever the reason behind the Windass move I believe it’s weakened us at a critical point in the season.

And let’s be honest, he was continually slagged off whenever he played.
