“I have a contract until 2015 with Wigan and I settled very well there. It is a brilliant community football club. The chairman is fantastic,” he told reporters.
“Yes, I want to be playing in the Premier League but it also depends on Wigan because I have a contract with them.
“Everton? Just because the gaffer is in charge makes the link stronger but, to be honest, I don’t know what will happen. After the international games I will know more.”
I personally think we would have done very well to have him playing for us next season but stranger things have happened.
Not sure what the truth is behind his £6 million relegation release clause but that may be the deciding factor..
No ,just realists, don’t give a toss what doey eyed drivel players or Big Dave spouts he won’t hang around here .!!!
Yep, exactly right. Talk is cheap!
Probably be the same with McCarthy when the big clubs come knocking. They have a career to think about when all’s said and done, so I wouldn’t blame them for leaving. I’d love them to stay but fully understand if they don’t.
I honestly don’t see that much between the two Macs. In fact McArthur has probably had more impact on games this season than McCarthy.
He always seems to get more involved where McCarthy seems to stroll around letting the game pass him by for long periods.
It would be good to keep them both if possible as I think they will be excellent together in the Championship.
everton have been sniffing round McCarthy since last transfer window, and this came from a very good source, who also told me something else thats happenend today about everton selling there training ground to raise funds
Is it too much to hope that the new manager can persuade everyone to stay?
Whelan must realise that for us to have a realistic chance of bouncing back up we need to retain all of these players.
Or am I just being a “fecking prat(t)” again ????[/quote[ [Whelan,]He did say that he was confident that Bobby would stay?Well i remember him sayin the ball was in his court anyway.
