Jermaine Defoe donated 5000 after a Latics fan cheekily asked him to. A grand for each of the 5 goals he scored against us for Spurs

Shame he didnt cheekily ask Chris Kirkland to donate a grand for each of the 9 he shipped that day.
29 August 2020 at 1:51 pm #189060Big thanks goes out to Defoe who in truth has no affiliation to the club bar banging a shitload of goals against us.
I just hope this makes a few ex and current players sit up, players who without Wigan wouldn’t have had or have the career they have and say to themselves “My turn to give back”.
Hands in your pocket chaps, we need your money
29 August 2020 at 2:26 pm #189063To be fair lots of players have chipped in since last night, a few of our ex players have as well.
Reece James being the latest.
Fuck the EFL
29 August 2020 at 7:17 pm #189068I e to see ex players and current players donating, and enjoying the supporters club’s thanks on Twitter
Don’t my bit alongside thousands of others29 August 2020 at 8:21 pm #189071A group of tics fans doing a bike ride for the appeal on Monday at 12pm at the stadium.
My own son being amongst them, a diehard since he https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/bike-ride-for-the-tics30 August 2020 at 7:46 am #189074I can only applaud all those who have given it just shows you that football clubs are a huge part of their communities helping others with charity work, kids, mental health issue’s the list goes on.
We shouldn’t be put into the bracket of a business gone bump, we are far more than that so need to be treated accordingly. It’s about time the council did more, we’ve 2 codes here who could both suffer badly.
Sorry they need the money to build some more cycle lanes around Asda
30 August 2020 at 8:28 am #189075Exactly my thoughts….Will our council contribute??? Guaranteed they’ll have funding put to one side for some minority lame duck pc scheme!!!!
30 August 2020 at 12:54 pm #189076Nandy has spoken and fair play to her but tbh she could take off in self propelled hot air balloon with what she’s exhaled, a whole lot of “What you up to ?” , “Oh ok thanks”
30 August 2020 at 1:07 pm #189078£492k in less than 4 days.
Where are ya vatman?
30 August 2020 at 2:56 pm #189079What a response!!!…A great big thank you to every single contributer……yet again proof of what an amazing club and supporters we have. Who ever takes over i hope Jonathan Jackson is involved…..a Wigan Athletic legend in my eyes.
30 August 2020 at 3:26 pm #189080The last 48 hours has really restored my love and faith in football. I didn’t think we’d get half of the target, but as ever, we’ve defied the odds and now showing the football world “this is how you support your club”.
It’s typical Latics to set a new precedent of the football family rallying round to support each other. What I have loved the most is how this fundraising campaign has brought fans, players, officials and even politicians from all clubs together as we’ve all remembered how much we love football and our own individual clubs.
I would really love to see the Supporters Club create a banner, to be displayed at every game, that says “thank you to everyone who helped us”.I’ll stop typing now, I’ve got something in my eye!
30 August 2020 at 3:52 pm #189081Unbelievable, UTFT. 4 million to buy the club has now dropped to 3.5 million who wouldn’t want to buy us for that.
30 August 2020 at 4:25 pm #189082Fantastic Unbelievable response from the football community trouble is as we speak Fester will be finding a new debt another way to sponge money out of the club.
