I think the fact that Loudmouth nearly always refers to Martinez as “the Spanish one” tells you that he never really wanted him in the first place (fair enough), but then isnt prepared to give him any leeway whatsoever and is constantly on his back.

I might have it wrong here, but I think he’s choosing his targets to go for, and then being let down in the negotiations. (Whelan & Benson?-Stadtler & Waldorf?)
I mean, with McDonald, we asked to take Celtic’s top scorer, on a ‘buy now, pay later’ basis. What the hell did they expect? I’d have refused that? I can’t help thinking that something similar has happened with Ruben.So Roberto spots a player, and then gets let down. I might be wrong, but that’s what I think is happening.
Whelan is a fine businessman, but is obviously better at selling things than buying. I’d love to see Roberto backed to the hilt with transfer funds, but he’s doing the job with one arm behind his back at the moment.

the first game i saw his team was the friendly v st.mirren and i predicted then (on here) what the garbage he served up that day would lead to,as i said earlier not one of his signings have proved to be good enough,his stubborness to maintain a system that doesnt work ,has got us into the deep trouble we are in now,and he has turned players who have proved themselves on more than a few occaisons for us into quivering wrecks.
the football we play is worse than any we have played in the premiership,it is boring and of poor quality, and despite all the anti bruce brigade shouting those like me down, it is littered with long ball mediocrity,but now they tend to be cross field punts as opposed to the banging it to a target man as bruce tended to use at times,one thing if you knock it up to a target man it doesnt tend to go straight into touch-like it does 5 or 6 times a game under the spanish one.
so all in all i am pretty disallusioned with the whole thing,i have been mocked and abused for my belief,which i have held from the start of the season,but one thing for sure is the ranks of those who agree with me is growing day by day.

Could possibly cut back on what he says, as he’s only setting himself up by highlighting the wrongs.

Please dont compare Bruce to Martinez, as much as i hate bruce now, he is a different class to the third rate spaniard we have.

sunderland havent won in 14 games now so how his elephant man doing any better and spent a hell of a lot of money.Yes bruce did do well at the start of last season but after xmas the wheels come off in a big way.And like i said early if it bothers you that much dont go anymore
I can’t see what the problem is here. Last night (for the fuzzy bits of match I did see online) we didn’t look too bad, first half (according to commentator) we looked shaky but after that, we had possession, control and dominated periods of the second half. Blackburn are a bit of a bogey team for us at Ewood Park…
We still have issues at the back which is obvious. From Bob’s comments, it looks like Figgs is being pulled all over the shop due to his agent and Bruce (the same one who said Liverpool unsettling Jones is disgusting!) and Mario out.
Loudmouth – with your extensive knowledge of the game, in five steps, how would you resolve the situation and make us a top 10 side??
We’re actually doing better this season than last season; compare the results against the same teams last season (replacing those relegated with those promoted) and we are 2 points better off this season. I’m more than happy with that knowing that it takes time to build a team. I really wasn’t expecting a top 4 finish this time ;)
