The only remote possibility of Rooney being involved in a World Cup final, is if he becomes a referee or linesman after retiring, and if he did, his threat may be just as potent as it is now, ie not very.

The media like to build the England team up, as though they should be competing with the Brazil’s and Germany’s, when in fact they just aren’t very good, they only build them up in order to knock them when they fail, they get a story either way.

Back on topic………..neymar…….this mon will never live up to the hype, I’m 100% certain of it.

Nah, Robbo was class. He really was. Look up united v barca 84 on YouTube.

Nah – even you could have scored both those goals mate. ;)

You’ll have to do better than that. B)

Not read all the replies, so don’t know if these have already been said:

        – Marouane Fellaini
        – Peter Crouch

And no, I don’t just hate tall people ;)

These are the 2 that really grind my gears – shocking footballers who just happen to be massive & capable of winning headers.

Fellaini scored a few early on this season.. next thing he’s being linked with Europe’s finest & being touted as 1 of the best in the league?!

        Incredible.

          Agree on both counts

            Agree about the media.

Only last week we saw the press get carried away after they beat San Marino eight nil. Suddenly all was right with the world and we were certs for Brazil.

Four days later, following so much build up and hype, they stuttered to a draw in Montenegro and the same press slated them.

Anyone ever watch Hold The Back Page on Sunday morning?

Most of them are so far up there own arses it’s unbelievable.Lets be honest if they are the tactical geniuses they think they are why aren’t they managing a team somewhere?

They are no more qualified than you or me to give a valid opinion on anything they just happen to have a degree, like football and secured a a job on a Newspaper.

Despite the constant press build up Rooney is not World Class we haven’t had a truly world class player for years. I’m struggling to think of one to be honest.

We have lots of good pros who with good organisation can occasionally gel together and perform well in a tournement. The teams of 1990 an 1996 for example.

How many of our players have been successful when moving abroad? How many have actually been chased by clubs from abroad – not many. That tells you a lot really.

Loads of hardworking pro’s but when compared with most continental players technically not good enough.

The influx of foreigners (Players and Managers) is now starting to affect the England Team as well. You would have to be delusional to think we even have the remotest chance of ever winning a World Cup. Half the players don’t get a regular game for their clubs.Look at the centre half situation that’s a worry for a start.

Who will play in the centre of midfield in a few years time.Wilshire is very injury prone and although he played for us,do you think Cleverley would be any where near the England side if he wasn’t at Utd?

However if we do actually make it to Brazil the press will be building the team up again, only to stick the boot it when we fail.

Why can’t they be honest before the tournement starts. Get behind the team yes, but admit in reality we haven’t got a cat in hells chance of winning it, so no need to crucify the team and manager when we get knocked out.

Then if we actually cause a surprise they can really go over the top and tell everyone how world class we really are !! :)

What the media do is no different to what we as fans do they just have the means to get their rants read by many.

Our chances against QPR on Sunday are being built up but should we lose then the same people will be criticising the players commitment.
