11 February 2013 at 1:29 pm #103153Make that 4 of us goodpost . I’ll still be travelling over from Ireland no matter what division we are in. My first game was a 2-1 win (haworth, liddel) against Northampton (2000) and I had the same feel good factor that Saturday night as I had when I saw us beat Stoke 2-0 last season. Anyone remember that Northampton game? I actually brought my missus to it, about 5,000 attendance and game was held up for aboout 10 mins (Northampton fans had some argy bargy with the stewards), and a cracking winner from Andy Liddel.
They should include a photo of you in the season ticket renewal packs when some of our lot complain that it’s too expensive/they can’t make every game/the entertainment’s not worth the money etc… goodpost
11 February 2013 at 1:47 pm #103154I think what we have to realise is that not everybody is the same in the way that they perceive the entertainment/enjoyment that should go with supporting a football team and lets face it people wouldn’t go and watch football if they didn’t enjoy it now would they ! Some are happy whatever happens and see no reason to say anything, at the end of the day it is the Prem look how far we have come etc. whilst others expect to get some sort of feelgood factor for their money despite still being loyal fans to the club. Neither fans are in the wrong and I would say that there is a pretty even split between such fans at the club, for instance reading back through this thread sees 6 posters siding with the original poster and 6 posters not ! This is the way of the World, there are the get your head down, be grateful and get on with it types and then there are the inquisitive ones, the ones that demand answers, the non conformists !

Much longer than I anticipated!

If you have felt the need to analyse the various posts on this thread, then can I suggest you have too much time on your hands dry chammy! :P
PS I’ll give you some research to do Fil if your bucket’s got a hole in, check back when we have won games and see if those same 6 posters are still negative in the days after the win, or see if they actually post at all. It’s that what bugs me and other Lightsiders the most, they appear like a genie from a lamp within minutes of the final whistle when we lose, but mysteriously go missing like Lord Lucan, DFS and LMB when we win.

If there is a thread that I am interested in then of course I read the posts, how can one possibly comment on a thread if you don’t get the full gist of how it’s panning out ! Oh and it’s chamois by the way ! To be fair there hasn’t been too much to get confident about so far this season but I never shy away after a decent performance. All I do is comment on my concerns, that doesn’t make me any worse a fan than the next man. I wont get hysterical and I wont call the manager anything untoward but when I have seen no evidence of the ‘Run’ that we are supposed to be embarking on then I will show concern ! I have stated several times that contrary to what some might think, I WILL be renewing next season whichever division we are in and I want us to perform to the best of our ability. At this present juncture I do think we may go down but that doesn’t make me a bad fan does it !
12 February 2013 at 12:30 am #103193The reason I replied was not in particular agreement with anything but because one particular poster got his thong in a twist over something that lowey wasn’t saying.
He then has a go at filmoss for reading through and reviewing the thread.
At no point has anybody said they won’t go if we’re relegated.
More to the point lowey will be a bit happier if we’re relegated as he’ll see more games.
Hope that’s cleared that up ffs!!
12 February 2013 at 12:34 am #103194I take it you will be renewing the battery in your watch Phil
As every home game it seems to be stuck at 4.35 :)

No it doesn’t Terry whatever your name is. I said he was being selfish re his comments and I’m bob on. Would like us to go down so he can see more games??? that’s worth a “FFS” in anybody’s books.
I read and understood his post first time thank you very much and I don’t need people like you coming on and trying to patronise me. Hope that’s cleared that up. B)
Oh and Fil I’m sure my first car was a Chamois 30 odd years ago. Cost me £50 quid and had to get it towed home. Got it running and sold it on for £80 and the lad who bought it off me wrote it off within a few weeks hitting a lamp post somewhere up Beech Hill. :woohoo:
