The sooner we get chance to get back on the rails. Will need to improve massively as yesterday was a complete shit show. For the life of me I cannot fathom what exactly Magennis contributes. Cant keep the ball so our long ball dross is effectively handing possession instantly back . Sunderland did a job on us with their shit housing and none of our players actually turned up. Most annoying thing is the 20k plus attendance was a show case for the freebie fans and what a let down. Mcclean totally wasted in the position yesterday, captain was a mess and that’s getting too familiar. Need to smash the next 2 home games then unlike some I think the players will want a day at Wembley so I certainly don’t see the kids playing……then go into Mk with chest puffed out.

Let’s face it were a banker bet to go a goal down. We haven’t played well for weeks bar at Wycombe for the last 30 minutes.

Were tf is McGrath ?? Signed as an attacking mid no sign of him no mention of an injury ??? Richardson when questioned about him refused to answer.

For me Richardson is getting it wrong. We have a young lad in Sze why not 10-15 here and there ?.
He put a holding and a defending midfielder on the bench then Naylor for Massey 0-3 down ???, explain why please.
I’m sorry but as much ifs about the players it’s about the manager and for me of late he’s getting his starting 11 oh so wrong hence why we go behind in every fcukin game

Another Tuesday another game to win. Notice people are split on the importance of this game . Of course promotion is a huge priority but does anyone actually believe the management and players in particular will want to throw away a chance to play at Wembley??? Also what a showcase for the owners too. With injuries, and giving key players a breather will test the manager to select his team with best chance of winning with one eye on Saturday. What’s the point of trawling through 7 games to give it away at final hurdle ?.Sutton will undoubtedly play their strongest 11 cos its huge for them. We play the kids and we’ll get smashed. Even a mixture will make it difficult but I for one hope we get the win ,certainly won’t be a shoe in.

Promotion out of league 1 has to be a priority surely given the financial rewards and the added factor of showcasing the club. The championship is far better than league 1 or a Pizza cup trophy final win at achieving that and there is also the unfairness of our relegation two seasons ago that still rankles massively.
We just have to get back there this season more out of principle than financial reasons and to me it feels like a crusade, a bumpy bus ride back to the big time but one that we are on nevertheless. You only had to look at the reaction of the manager and players at full time to see how much that nervy win against Wimbledon meant to them all.
Play a mix of fringe players and kids and promise them a turn at Wembley if they get there which is right and proper but give the first team lads a break for this one and at Wembley also.
i am sorry if this sounds negative but its a mickey mouse trophy especially since the premier league teams under 21s got involved.
More importantly the fact we won arguably the best and most historic domestic knock out cup in world football less than 10 years ago weakens it quite a bit in my view.
I fully appreciate its significance with some of our supporters after the wins in 1985 and 1999 but its prestige has weakened massively since then and it is just a sideshow these days for a club like Latics, a non event.
Good luck whatever team he turns out regardless but promotion is the priority for me this season back where we should be rightfully !
            Ready for the brickbats…………………………………….

I agree about devalued ,only because the u21 teams passing around in the cup but surely 1 step from Wembley isn’t to be given up lightly. Still think the manager, players, owners want the win albeit not at all costs.

I want us to win but by playing fringe and academy players .Treat it as a tournament for them ,exactly as the Premier league teams do.Absolutely no interest in this competition from a first team perspective.

Winning is a great habit. Mark Lawrence said….” when your winning ,you can’t wait for the next one “…I’m sure it’ll be as strong a team as possible…

I’ve always wanted us to go as far as possible in every cup and stay top of the league. But now it’s come to the crunch with a six pointer on Saturday, I really want to see all our first teamers rested and fresh for MK.

Plus, the youngsters have got us so far so they deserve the chance to take us all way.

Look I want to go to Wembley,

I remember our late winner against Millwall

                      but

I can’t remember were we finished that year in the League

6th. Lost to City in the playoffs. Still hate Shaun Goater.

The Pizza Cup has been ruined and promotion is the priority, but I’m greedy and want to win both.

Look let’s get it right it’s not the League/FA Cup I get that but, players want those big days out.
I’ve a feeling Richardson will go full kids and fringe players and if we go out say,
“That’s behind us we can now concentrate on the League”.
It will be interesting to see how Rotherham approach it now 2 clubs are both within shooting distance.

In the semis by accident in my opinion as the manager has used the tournament to blood some youngsters and keep the fringe players in the loop and ready if needed which some of them will be in the forthcoming weeks for sure.
If the club gets to Wembley then fine but still play the kids and reserves in the final because promotion has to be the number 1 priority and the second division will be far more lucrative than it has ever been if we get promoted especially if Everton and Leeds get relegated.
Its a nothing prize and the original idea being a revenue earner for cash strapped lower division clubs in the mid 1980s affected by low attendances caused by hooliganism and mass unemployment.
A few hundred grand prize or 10 million quid plus in increased turnover next season , no brainer in my view, far too big a gap to risk our important players.
