Having g to watch on TV due to illness. Can see why you wouldn’t put some of these anywhere near 1st team…..As for Jo es surely a matter of time b4 he passes it straight to one of their forwards for a goal…..As for Bayliss !!!
Jones f@@@@@@@ useless…….never looked like rescuing us…..78 % possession and 3 shots. Pitiful…….Magennis should never start again. Pearce,Bayliss,Massey,Jones, absolutely awful…….what a golden opportunity. At times reminded me of Martinez…passed the ball to death and without a striker on the pitch until Keane came on..Only McLean deserved credit.
Mk will destroy us if any of those get near 1st team. Too slow,zero penetration…..Jones constantly put us under pressure with his passing from the back. Sorry but Sutton were there for taking and shows how weak our squad is.Thank God the captain still suspended…..he’s a liability.
How the F@@@ anyone can say we played well is unbelievable. They were happy to sit back and let us play triangles. As the 3 shots stat proved. Thank god for Humphreys, pace,runs channels,dynamic and constantly makes himself available. Then there’s the lamppost.
Well what more can you say, for 15 minutes we had a bunch of players shit scared to shoot.
Magennis ?, I’ve said it before, he’s the worse forward to wear a Latics shirt while we’ve been at the DW.
Watts was at times a liability. I fear for us Saturday. It will be interesting to see if Rotherham give it up tomorrow considering their within a stones throw of 2 clubs.I don’t know what’s worse, watching us try to play football and doing it badly, or, watching us play hoof ball and doing it badly.
We’ve never treated this competition as anything other than a training exercise so we don’t really deserve a Wembley final. We’ve had some good memories from it this season, and the fringe players have a some game time so it’s been a good competition for us overall.
I’d like to ask the manager a couple of things,
Why did we persist on trying to get the ball wide then attempt to cross it in when there’s fcuk all there to aim at ???.
I lost fcukin count how many side and back passes we did on the edge of their box looking to get it wide especially in the 2nd half for who else but the invisible man Magennis.
It was as though they were told “Shoot and your fined” 3 shots on target all game is laughable a total p1sstake.
Like I said, I can’t think of a worse player to grace the DW than him. Can’t jump, can’t shoot, can’t run, doesn’t win anything in the air, can’t score, can’t tackle. Richardson needs check his stats ffs. He persist on playing Nagennis when his stats stink like an open drain cover.
Young Sze was there, I’ll swear he would have given us a better chance of going through.
And why why why why would you leave Humphrys and Lang both out ?. Please don’t say “Saving them for Sat” as though 10 mins will kill em. Wouldn’t have it been better bringing them on with 10-15 to go to rescue us ?. He was happy to play Keane who’d not long back come back from injury.
Even if it is only the EFL Trophy it’s a day at Wembley for their players and fans and to think of the League only disgust me. Can you imagine doing that in 2013 ?.
Well we’re out now let’s see if we can do them Saturday but based on that MK Dons might put 4-5 past us. We’re a car crash waiting to happen
All this” Magennis got 18 goals with balls from wide positions” then look at Powers brilliant bending delivery. Screaming to be touched in and Magennis was 5 yds from it. 13 games no goals and virtually no shots on target and gives us no outlet. Richardson has dropped a real bollock with him ,knowing we needed to replce Wyke and wasted a signing. God help us if Humphreys or Keane finds themselves on treatment table. Jones scared me shitless, passing the ball out to defenders facing goal then as they press ending up under pressure to clear. Edwards final balls produce zero and why he still selects Massey is frightening. He constantly bottled it under pressure and produces nothing. We have a decent starting 11 but the back up personnel are mediocre. 2 mins from time andxwe still passing around our own 18yd box probably cos if we launch it to Magennis then it’s possession over. All in all a dire,slow,toothless effort carrying certain players who shouldn’t see 1st team duty again.
Richardson obviously has an affection with Magennis. I’m not sure what games he’s watching but it’s not the same one as me.
As I stated before, we had a big chance for a feel good factor day out for the whole club. A win would have also been a massive moral and uplift for the players but he chose to think about Saturday.
I’m not saying play full strength from the start but why tf certain players weren’t on the bench is beyond me, they might not have even been needed.
Richardson fcuked end of, an opportunity to put the club back on the map but he chose to try and box clever.
As for that playing it out from the back?
80 odd minutes on the clock 1-1 and it took us 17 passes to get over the half way line back sideways back sideways, then standing on it, look up, pass backwards.Has he been on to Martinez for advise ???

Loyalty to experienced players when their out of form is poor management
PeriodAgree….would have gone to MK on a high.Yes we got the points last week against shit opposition but we were dreadful . The fact it took Richardson so long to twig what most of us were screaming concerning Humphreys v Magennis smells of either Cookyesqu stubbornness or naivety. Yes he tried to box clever and all he did was give himself the task to have to raise moral for Saturday. His loyalty to certain players will be our downfall. We have to get something Saturday. Mk are flying and if they continue the run of form and do us then those games in hand will be like a weight around our necks and not worth a toss. Drop out of second and another season in league 1 a certainty. We’d go in to playoffs demoralised and likely playing teams who already beaten us . So last night’s balls up could have a negative impact on rest of season when it could have been so different.
