23 February 2019 at 11:59 pm #176585If you expect us to be in top half of this league with our budget and crowds I would fuck it off and watch another side as you’re only gonna be disappointed. We are miles behind the majority in terms of infrastructure and size and avoiding relegation will be a decent achievement in a league we have struggled to get to grips with the last two seasons we have been in it.
Oh be careful bigroy. You might just get shot down for talking sense.
24 February 2019 at 12:56 am #176587Back to the game, shambles ? I’d say not quite but it wasn’t pretty to watch.
Lots of sideways passing and the lack of anyone taking command in the centre circle made us look toothless and very one dimensional.
Powell doesn’t look even close to been fit and his substitution was no more than a token gesture.
I’m just glad it was Ipswich because the way we performed I’m sure any of the top 6 would have torn us apart.
MacManaman comes on and draws a few fouls and your thinking, hug the touchline and drag players out and cut in grab a few free kicks jobs a good un so what does Cook do ?, gives him 5 minutes out wide then sends him up front leaving James to run the show on his own.
For me our problem lies in midfield. It’s ok having Evans and Morsey but without a ball player of some sort pulling the strings we look no more than best a pjss poor outfit fit for League One.24 February 2019 at 1:01 am #176588Our budget? We don’t know what that is. Our owners don’t say a great deal.
Our first two seasons in this league was pretty impressive with less crowds than these last four.
Granted those two seasons where under DW when he had ambition.24 February 2019 at 1:20 am #176589We don’t know what our budget is? Seems pretty obvious it’s fuck all when we’ve just released financial accounts making a massive loss, have sold one of our best assets, spent ball all in the transfer window and are about to lose our best player on a free at the end of the season. Unlike the seasons you quote we don’t have parachute payments anymore and these lads from Hong Kong don’t have a pot to piss in!
24 February 2019 at 1:26 am #176590We had a good start and looked comfortable then started to let them have opportunities at the back post with a spare man finding space. Then what looked like a con of a penalty (not seen it on tv so happy to be wrong). After that it wAs always going to be tough breaking them down as the sat and defended.
I had several frustrations;
Their play acting
Our unwillingness to run to the bye line and cross
The lack of urgency towards the end
Leon Clarke appearing to wear my boots instead of his own
Powell didn’t appear to know we were losing and had a very rusty game
On the positive side we came back to gain a point from a losing position and no one else gained any points on us, with millwall and Bolton losingClear penalty, no complaints. He pulled him back.[/quote]
I think all that whisky has affected your eyesight Vat69.
I have watched that penalty award 3 or 4 times in slo mo and I’ll be buggered if Dunkley’s boot lace even touches their mon !24 February 2019 at 2:22 am #176595We had a good start and looked comfortable then started to let them have opportunities at the back post with a spare man finding space. We all saw it in ES6, and people in ES3 said they saw it too. It was clear, and unnecessary, as he was facing the corner flag and in the corner of the penalty area. Daft foul.
Please dont even ATTEMPT to claim it wasnt a penalty, it clearly was!

24 February 2019 at 2:31 am #176598Probably not as we don’t have massive debt and are unlikely to have any going forward as owners won’t spend owt. We will try and punch above our weight on a brown ale budget when all around us are supping cognac. We might have the odd season in league one and come back up but we won’t be contenders in this league with free transfers and owd fellas coming in!
24 February 2019 at 2:50 am #176599Yes we were shit today but we are still 5 above the drop.
As for vatty fattys shite about us an Bolton being similar and there beimg no difference….
9 points and 4 places fat boy. I’ll bet you your Everton season tickey we stay up and they don’t.
24 February 2019 at 2:56 am #1766004 games unbeaten isn’t relegation form.
This season was always about survival and that’s what we’ll do; keep the faith.
God we make it hard though. I hate this tippy tappy pass it around stuff…in this league get it in the Box as often as possible..something will happen!

Totally agree and we got it in the box quite a few times today but it was either an awful pass or an even worse awful finish. Clarke was naff, Jacobs crap, Windass hapless, Pilkington awful so despite all the huffing and puffing we were basically uneffective as an attacking force today.

And we still didn’t lose
24 February 2019 at 4:40 am #176604Big concern for me is team spirit.
Spat betwenn Windass and Garner did not look good
24 February 2019 at 4:46 am #176605And watch Clarke’s response after Garner scores. While a few players run up to congrats Garner Clarke who is a few feet away decides to walk off in the opposite direction with a face like a babies slapped arse.

I hope no one brushes against you when your shopping m8 or you’ll be dusting yourself down every 5 minutes.
It’s a fookin contact sport he put an arm on him and as soon as he felt it his legs gave in like an hypnotist….”3-2-1 Sleep !!”. -
