For me, the one good thing that will happen if/when we go down is that the club will get rid of a lot of these hanger-on wasters that we have attracted of late, among our support.

The FA Cup run to the final has only increased the amount of absolute whoppers who have latched on to the club. Well let’s see where these c@nts are when we have got Doncaster Rovers at home next season.

And before you think its just bitter old me who thinks like this, I had someone else say the same to me last night. This FA Cup final is all very nice, and yes, it might be a grand day out, but its a fact that there are people latching onto the club who really don’t give two actual shits about the club. Some of them have appeared on here, in recent weeks and months.

Yes, it riles. It really does. Going down will be absolutely shite. It’ll cost the club a bloody fortune. But if it gets rid of a lot of these bandwagon jumpers who will drop us like a hot rock as soon as we are confirmed down, then thats one small positive out of a shitty situation.

Then the ones that are left, the proper supporters, can get behind whatever team we end up being left with, and whatever manager we have, and get behind the club in the Championship, as we try and get back up again.

Don’t shirk behind “Some of them have appeared on here, in recent weeks and months.”

If you’re going to call people out at least have the balls to do it by name.

Did I hit a nerve there?

            Perhaps either:

A: I am unsure of the actual names.

            or

B: There are too many to mention.

            You decide.

Obviously, I’m still in a bad mood after last night. Too many people have got carried away with the FA Cup final…..I’d forfeit playing in it now, if we were offered the chance of staying up if we did so….most of our proper supporters would say the same.

The whoppers and hangers on wouldn’t, though.

How ironic is it that in the season you have not harped on about why it would be so great if we got relegated we have looked most likely to go down.

Hopefully after this post we can now upset your relegation ambitions once more and go on to survive goodpost

Salford, I haven’t had to harp on about it, we’ve been shite all season. But I decided to get behind the team and manager instead. And even now, after that shower last night, am I slagging the team or manager off? No.

Do you not think I am pissed off that we will lose out on £70 million from TV money? Damn right I am.

For me, we are down now. I think it’ll be confirmed this weekend, whilst we are distracted in the cup final, others will pick up points that will send us down.

Really now, if we survive this season, it’ll be the greatest escape ever.

Personally, I’m already looking forward to Doncaster and Barnsley, next season. I will get behind whatever team/manager we end up with in the Championship.

Clearly everybody is a bit miffed after last night.

But, you’re accusing people of not being proper fans because they happened to join the site recently. Furthermore, a lot of fans complain about numbers. When people turn up, they’re accused of not being true fans and when they don’t show up people have a go at them.

For the record, I would much rather we lost on Saturday and stayed up rather than the other way round. And the only reason I haven’t renewed my season ticket for the Championship yet is A) we’re not down yet and B)they’re not on sale yet.

But only people who signed up to CL when it launched are proper fans.

Don’t be surprised that when you accuse a certain group of something, that people in that group get annoyed with you.

As we drove back to our sleepy part of Bedfordshire last night the 180 miles seemed like a thousand…My lad hardly spoke on the journey home, when he did his voice hoarse, cracked with emotion, lamenting the ‘nights game. However he went into sixth form this morning head held high knowing that the ‘ribbing’ he’d get, is slightly tempered by this Saturdays FA Cup Final . We/he still believe(s) we will get a result at the Emirates as he proudly told the Sky reporter prior to last nights game. We maybe ‘newbies’ in terms of season tickets but have travelled the A1/A14/M6 all this season, plus away games and will continue to do so next season.

I’d rather win the cup so I guess I’m not a proper fan.

Football is a business, so every club needs as many customers as possible.

Who cares if they are all super fans or not?

They have to jump on board at some point, getting to a cup final is a great reason for us to attract new fans. If you’re annoyed at us losing 70m in Tv revenue then the only way we can make a small percentage of it back is by getting more fans buying tickets.

I said the same thing on Danish TV last night ;)

I am also a recent joiner to this forum, although not a recent fan. The cup run and end of season battle piqued my interest in what other people were thinking, hence my coming on here, and to be honest it’s much as I expected with completely diverse points of view from completely diverse individuals.

To continue your original post, other good things if/when we go down would also be Shef Wed (at last), Blackpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Leeds, Huddersfield, Doncaster, Barnsley and (please please) Yeovil to name but a few.

I get the feeling some people thing relegation is the worst thing that can possibly happen to a club and whilst it’s awful watching us go through our death throws in a couple of months time there will be a euro cup draw and the fixtures will be out for next season and (football) life goes on. Ask Stockport, Barnet, Wolves, Luton, Wrexham fans who would all trade with us at this point.

Me too. Well actually that comment was off the record but I said similar.

Unfortunately the extra fans’ revenue will equate to around 5% of the £70m per season.

Why is that unfortunate? £3.5m would buy a decent Championship player.
