I love my club so going in the championship is a balls up.The loss of revenue to a club of our size is going to make life difficult but we will have to just get on with it and see what happens. As other posters have stated our early and mid season lack of urgency could this time be fatal. The ” it’s the performance that counts not the result” statement has finally come back to haunt Robbie. It’s the results that count and if you look good then that’s a bonus.

Clearly everybody is a bit miffed after last night.
But, you’re accusing people of not being proper fans because they happened to join the site recently. Furthermore, a lot of fans complain about numbers. When people turn up, they’re accused of not being true fans and when they don’t show up people have a go at them.
For the record, I would much rather we lost on Saturday and stayed up rather than the other way round. And the only reason I haven’t renewed my season ticket for the Championship yet is A) we’re not down yet and B)they’re not on sale yet.
But only people who signed up to CL when it launched are proper fans.

Sorry, but I’m just pissed off that suddenly everybody wants to know WAFC, I mean with the cup final, and yet in a week or so’s time, a lot of these saame people will not give a shit about the club.
That’s why I’m annoyed. I know loads personally, men and women, who have never given a toss about us, yet come Saturday, they will be decked out all in blue and white, face painted, and a replica shirt so new its got creases in it still.

I am sure all Latics fans want the support to grow. And it has to start somewhere. Do you get annoyed at kids getting free tickets? I got a free ticket as a kid once and now i’ve been a ST holder for 10 years and going to every home game for 13.
I want the support to keep growing, and if a few plastics end up in the DW for a spell then fine. Some of them will latch on and turn in to people like, who love the club, bleed blue and white and sing their hearts out. They just had the misfortune to not be introduced to the club early enough.
If there were no plastics going on Saturday we wouldn’t have sold nearly as many tickets as we have.

What do people these days have to do to be a proper fan in your eyes ?? Do they need to do long winded posts on messageboards and change their mind about the team / manager / chairman every week like you do ? Should they do FAO Johnothan Jackson messages like you do ? Should they interview themselves for a fanzine like you did ? Maybe just maybe they should label the manager a Spanish Clown ? Or perhaps threaten someone with a baseball batting on a forum ?? Perhaps add a touch of racism ?
All things you have done Davey. You are certainly not an example of how to support any club be it football, hockey or water polo. The way you behave amongst your own fans on here and every other site has been more of an embarrassment than any FA Cup Final day tripper will ever be
I have to admit that daytrippers do tend to get on my nerves but as people have said, everyone has to start somewhere and if a cup win adds a few hundred fans to our gates then so be it. Yes a large number will be off should we go down but I know plenty who’ll be back because they hate the premiership.

Anybody who knows me knows I’ve been going since 1986. That’s 27 years. I first had a Cockney latic fanzine back in 1989, when there was a picture of a Dave Thompson lookalike on the front.
To be quite honest, I didn’t know the name Jason Taylor, before the internet. I didn’t know the name Chris Griffin, before the internet. I didn’t know the name George Chilvers, before the internet. I could go on all night here.

I have to say, it was a damn sight easier supporting Latics before the internet came along.
You went to games and then that was that, whether they won, lost, drew, played great, or played rubbish.
Everything is over analized now.
