I actually queued up to get Macclesfield tickets, and despite the cold I loved it. Maybe it sounds a bit naff or even old fashioned, but I actually got some satisfaction from the purchase. Especially with having the craic with the others in the queue. When I buy my tickets online I feels no different to buying a table and chairs from Homebase.

      Different strokes and all that.
I’ve yet to hear one good reason why being a season ticket holder should give you any right to buy a cup final ticket for a family member – (IMO)
well I’ll stick our maud next to you then. Lets hope its not raining , the beers cheaper, no queuing , etc………….

If it’s 25000 tickets and we’ve 10,000 ST holders then it should be 2 per ST holder to start with for first week of sales.

Then say 2 days sales to non ST holders who purchased semi final tickets.

Then on general sale what’s left.

If it is just 1 ticket per ST then that’s going to cause no end of hassle for people like me wanting to take the Mrs…damned near impossible then to get 2 seats together.

Are we certain to sell out 25000 especially now it’s a 5.15 KO again

Why should your mrs have any entitlement to a ticket just because she is married to a season ticket holder ?

As far as deciding what groups qualify off the data base, I would assume that within the database software is some method of looking at individual purchasing history quite easily, so the ones who buy tickets for every game, but are not ST holders, and there are quite a few of those, would top the list and they would be offered second phase of sales after season tickets, then it would be regular buyers and so on.

I do think that the club will opt for 2 per ST, but dont agree with and worry that these will go to spouses and friends who rarely go to games instead of people who are true fans but can’t afford the expense of a ST ot going to every game.

I look at it the other way round. ST holders want to be able to take a guest.

The club does plenty of ticket offers during the season for non ST holders eg £30 for Newcastle/Norwich games.

A great occasion like the Cup Final the club should first and foremost reward it’s most loyal followers ie ST holders IMHO.

Anyone who went to Goole Town in 1971 should be top of the list!

If the prices we have seen quoted so far are true, then you may well see more spare tickets up for grabs than you think.

Can I ask you how many games your wife goes to ?

Then answer me this, my kids have a 17 year old friend, he is a college student, his parents are not latics or even football fans, and I know they are living on a shoestring at the moment, well this young lad has a part time job at a fast food outlet when he’s not at school, he uses all his spare cash on buying tickets to watch WAFC, we get tickets for him as well when there are offers.

He could not go to the game on Saturday because he could not afford to do that one and the final as well, so he took the gamble to stay home, we even offered to buy him a ticket, but he chose to work a double shift so he could afford to pay his own way to the final, he has missed one home game this season including all the cup games, he has also been to all the away cup games including Forest and West Ham in the league cup.

Now can you tell me honestly who deserves an FA cup final ticket more, him or your wife, and there are many more latics fans like this kid who dont know if they will get a ticket or not.

Sounds a deserving case, so get him a ticket then!

That’s my point, ST holders should get 2 tickets and it’s up to them who they take with them.

One per season ticket I reckon it will be.

I’m lucky in that me,the better half and daughter all have a ST.We will get our 3 I hope.

I do intend to queue this time rather than book on line. Now I’ve been once I don’t want to be at pitch level in the lower tier.We had great seats for the semi I’d love to choose them again if I can!!

I’m sure there will be people queuing with 10 or 15 ST’s to ensure they all sit together. :cheer:

Thats a fudge on your part, tell me why your wife should go as opposed to lots of true latics fans that are like that kid.

If I get offered 2 tickets per our season tickets I will use the system just the same as everyone else, but it doesn’t mean I agree with it, but the extras will be going to latic fans that dont qualify in first choice, I have already had the calls from family and friends who rarely go near, including my own sister and brother in law and they have no chance.

Everyone relax, there will be enough to go round, even with two per season ticket which seems sensible. Not everyone will take up the 2 ticket option but is an opportunity to expand the fan base on the back of a loyal customer. Non st holders will already be on database with decent relevant purchasing history and so will get one. After that keep a few back for our supporters now living abroad and coming home to see history being made. Would suggest if you don’t fall into these categories then probably not a genuine latics supporter so can’t complain if don’t get one as reckon we will sell our expected 25 tho allocation.
