Sounds a deserving case, so get him a ticket then!

That’s my point, ST holders should get 2 tickets and it’s up to them who they take with them.

Thats a fudge on your part, tell me why your wife should go as opposed to lots of true latics fans that are like that kid.

If I get offered 2 tickets per our season tickets I will use the system just the same as everyone else, but it doesn’t mean I agree with it, but the extras will be going to latic fans that dont qualify in first choice, I have already had the calls from family and friends who rarely go near, including my own sister and brother in law and they have no chance.
She goes to 2-3 games per season.

Tell my why should we buy season tickets year in year out if we’re not “at the front of the queue” when it comes to these massive occasions?

If it is 2 per ST, then non ST’s who bought semi tickets, there’ll still be 3000-4000 left I reckon on general sale.

If it is 1 per ST, we wont sell out. We probably will if it’s 2 per ST.

What’s the prices anyone know yet? I’m reckoning on £10-£20 more than the semis.

Surely it has to be two tickets per season ticket holder? Why would the club give 14k tickets to non season ticket holders and only 10k to the ones who show loyalty and buy up front? don’t make sense.
why should we now be bothered about non season ticket holders not getting a ticket?
Our average attendance for home fans is about 14k so if 20k go to season ticket holders then the fans who turn up and pay on the gate every week will get a ticket.
Anyway, i think when a few see the prices of the final tickets they might think twice anyway.

Think again, allocation will be 25,000 prices are ridiculous in comparison to semi final prices.
Below is the info from last years final.
A statement on the Liverpool club’s website said: “Liverpool has received an allocation of 25,074 tickets for this all-ticket fixture. Within the allocation of tickets received approximately 10% of the adult tickets are priced at £115; 46% are priced at £85; 28% are priced at £65 and 16% are priced at £45.

I got 3 tickets on my season ticket for the semi, 2 of them were for season tickets holders, so had 2 spare client codes, so if they do give us 2 per season ticket, that would mean 6 tickets, plus the 2 semi tickets freed up, :cheer:

And if family & friends have to sit apart then so be it (IMO)
so as for me,i have a season ticket and take my kids now and again, ages 9 and 7.i get a ticket in say block 107 and my kids get one in block 111.you agree with that do you?

I reckon as season ticket holders we should get two per ST. Since Christmas my other half and daughter have attended all home games to date, bought either at the ticket office or on line..but all against my’booking code’ so they will not be on the data base. As I’ve stated before, we travel from Bedfordshire. I believe I should have a chance to buy them a ticket alongside my son and I, cos I reckon we’ve snared another two season tickets for next season.
Equally if we ‘only sold’ 22000 for the semi, surely those who made the effort, should have first dibs, still leaves 3000 for general sale. Equally I would love to be able to purchase the tickets we had again, fantastiv views.

The first in line should be the people, who in the dark days of the 1980’s when the club was on the brink of folding, met in the Queens Hall and pledged/gave money, to keep the club going, All the people who gave money received a certificate.
It was called the LIFELINE APPEAL How many on here have one?
Then next Shareholders, who since DW took over have been pushed right off the radar. There can’t be many left. After attending the last few Shareholders Meeting. There have only been about 25 people in attendance. :(

Whilst I agree with bronxbomber, the club has successfully grown its’ fan base why else would we be travelling from Bedfordshire, if we as ‘southerners’ did not care /love the Club. Every club has to move forward, and I believe that Wigan have done just that. We will always be the butt of the ‘look at the empty seats’ jibe, but those empty seats at wembley on Saturday should not now be filled by general sales that could easily fall into the hands of Man city fans. Ask Wimbledon fans in 1988, most of the terrace behind the goal that Sanchez scored/aldrige pen miss, were Liverpool fans..do we really want City fans amongst our fans?

How do you become a shareholder? Wanted to know for a while, not just for final tickets (I have a ST and went to the semi so hopefully that’s enough).

I’m guessing they were available to buy at one time but not anymore?

If it’s 25000 tickets and we’ve 10,000 ST holders then it should be 2 per ST holder to start with for first week of sales.

Then say 2 days sales to non ST holders who purchased semi final tickets.

Then on general sale what’s left.

If it is just 1 ticket per ST then that’s going to cause no end of hassle for people like me wanting to take the Mrs…damned near impossible then to get 2 seats together.

Are we certain to sell out 25000 especially now it’s a 5.15 KO again

Why should your mrs have any entitlement to a ticket just because she is married to a season ticket holder ?

As far as deciding what groups qualify off the data base, I would assume that within the database software is some method of looking at individual purchasing history quite easily, so the ones who buy tickets for every game, but are not ST holders, and there are quite a few of those, would top the list and they would be offered second phase of sales after season tickets, then it would be regular buyers and so on.

I do think that the club will opt for 2 per ST, but dont agree with and worry that these will go to spouses and friends who rarely go to games instead of people who are true fans but can’t afford the expense of a ST ot going to every game.
For whatever differences we may have had in the past, I have to say I agree totally with that, LMB. Also agree with what you say about the young lad you know who makes an effort to get to games. Why should someone who never bothers have a ticket? Should I get my maud a ticket, her being someone who has no interest at all in the game? No chance. Leave the maud at home. Chuck her £50 and send her the bingo or summat.

I remember when we got promoted. The team were in Walkabout and the craic was good. Quite a few Latics fans in there mixing with the players, and it was all jolly. However after a couple of hours, every hanger on in town were coming. One bloke had his missus with him and she was in all Latics stuff, face painted, with ribbons in hair, etc. She looked like one of our biggest fans.

Then I heard her asking her bloke “Who’s Mahon?” and “Who’s Roberts?” etc.

I decided it was time to go home.

Ok then, based on this theory, as one of the 1,400 and odd who were present for Whelan’s first game, and who had stayed loyal through relegation of 1993 and also the Swain era, I demand that my dad and I are bumped up in line of preference. (Im not being serious, by the way)

I can vouch for several other supporters who I recall from that time as well. Sadly, some great supporters have passed on in subsequent years.

Its not going to happen. I’m not sure even if the club has any records of supporters from pre 1999. Didn’t they get lost when Springfield was trashed?

Just give season ticket holders 2 then the rest to whoever as a wembley semi ticket hopefully they will all be sold before general sale or we could have a few city fans at our next home game to get on the data base

Club should use this as a marketing tool to get a few more on against Spurs.

You’re absolutely right Dave.

On the way down from block 502 after the game – and it was a long way down – I was chatting and reminiscing with no other than the legend that is Tommy Gore. I overheard quote a few people say, “who’s that bloke with Sammy?”.

I think you need to sit an exam on Latics history before you can qualify for a ticket.
