Cook & his tactics are going the same way as Caldwell’s & joyce’s & we all know what happened there. It’s as if we haven’t learned anything at all from last time. I consider myself part of this rosy brigade, but even I am now starting to fear the worse. Lose on Saturday & i feel the alarm bells will definitely be starting to ring.
6 March 2019 at 11:38 am #176885When you don’t take the few chances when the come especially when your playing a defensive counter attacking style of football youve basically got problems.
This will go to the wire for sure that’s unless there’s a massive improvement in front of goal and we put it to bed early doors. No ball player in the middle isn’t helping (as mentioned) weres the wonder kid from Everton ?. He doesn’t even make the bench nowdays along with MacManaman.

6 March 2019 at 11:56 am #176887Are the Cookie cult posters having internet issues ? Their silence is deafening.Or have they finally accepted the Cook isn’t up to the task as his signing of Clarke proves emphatically and our weekly slide towards the bottom 3 proves.Shit 1st time round and now double shit.Derby were crap and he had several opportunities to hit the target but failed.Should have been dumped after his Ipswich performance. Does anyone know why Powell didn’t start(again)…boy is he value for money!
6 March 2019 at 12:30 pm #176888I wouldn’t throw the towel in just yet, even though we’re poor, so are others.
It’s a case of “Dammed if you do, dammed if you don’t” for Cook. If we go gun hoe all out and get stuffed he’s had it but if we sit back hoping we can nick one and we fail to score he’s slated. Were the problem lies is Cooks choice of signings, team selection and older players suffering from injuries i.e Fox twice Pilkingron twice.
Clarke was pish poor last night and for me cost us the game. If were to get out this mess then he needs to take those easy on a plate chances or Cook needs to bench him (which I doubt).Jesus, I’d have James up there rather than Clarke.
6 March 2019 at 1:39 pm #176889I don’t think his tactics were too far off. We were 1 up and creating chances. As usual though, we missed those chances and it came back to bite us on the ass.
We are still the rank outsiders to go down so if you’re that confident we are doomed then make yourselves some money. 25/1 with Betfair.
6 March 2019 at 3:27 pm #176892Cant believe I’m saying this, but I would start garner with Powell behind him. Or as egg mentioned, Powell behind windass.
Long shot, but what about Cole???
6 March 2019 at 3:28 pm #176893Not much quality on show last night from both teams. Thought we were in control of the game until their fluke of an equaliser. Oceans of space for them to put in the cross. Massey should have been busting a gut to close the player down and stop the cross. We seemed to be strolling around at times. And with a free header in front of goal you have to at least hit the target. Rank bad defending for their winner, from Evans in particular. Even then we should still have been capable of seeing the game out for at least a point but for the umpteenth time this season we didn’t. Expecting a reaction at Reading but I’d like to be convinced it will happen.

We actually looked comfortable for 60 mins away against a team who are pushing for the play offs and must have been one of the pre-season favourites for automatic promotion. That “wonder” goal was a flick on that went wrong but ended up being right. It was a disappointing response after that went in, but it was a game changer.
I will start to panic if we end up in the bottom 3 and not before.
3 points and better GD is still a position any of the bottom 3 would sooner have.
Keep the faith we are the biggest little club in the world with Paul Cook or without him. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!7 March 2019 at 2:23 am #176905Not sure we contained them more the fact they were awful but they still won. Was it a fluke or an amazing goal? Doesn’t really matter it went in and we caved in again. I have backed Cook and still do but yesterday’s game was so frustrating and demoralizing. I do think we beat ourselves by such negative tactics. We are trying to grind out enough points which is not how we set out at the start of the season.
