Utd won because they were extremely lucky. Something we don’t seem to get much of.
We have had a donkey up front and a cart horse behind him. Doesn’t resemble two up front at all.8 March 2019 at 5:43 pm #176926Not much quality on show last night from both teams. Thought we were in control of the game until their fluke of an equaliser. Oceans of space for them to put in the cross. Massey should have been busting a gut to close the player down and stop the cross. We seemed to be strolling around at times. And with a free header in front of goal you have to at least hit the target. Rank bad defending for their winner, from Evans in particular. Even then we should still have been capable of seeing the game out for at least a point but for the umpteenth time this season we didn’t. Expecting a reaction at Reading but I’d like to be convinced it will happen.I think that’s what signaled him being taken off. He was dead on his feet.
8 March 2019 at 5:48 pm #176928Did.united just win with two up front? They did.
And City & Liverpool are fighting it out at the top of the league with 1 up front, or 3 up front however you want to look at it.
It doesn’t matter. But throwing 2 strikers up front does’t automatically mean you will have double the amount of goal scoring chances as some of our learned posters intimate.
8 March 2019 at 10:01 pm #176935To be fair Standish, its like playing with none up front at the moment with the strikers we have.
I would give Garner a go up there, he surely can’t fare any worse than the present striker(s).9 March 2019 at 12:17 am #176936To be fair Standish, its like playing with none up front at the moment with the strikers we have.
I would give Garner a go up there, he surely can’t fare any worse than the present striker(s).Garner with Windass up top with Pilks ont left and James ont right with Morsy and Powell int middle. Yank ont left Byrne ont right with Dunks and Kipre into middle.
Who knows something like that could work. SFA else as worked so why don’t we just give it a try at least until the end of the season.9 March 2019 at 12:36 am #176938Jones
Byrne Dunks Kipre Robinson
Morsey James
Massy Mcmanaman Jacobs
PowellLoads of pace and just have a go
I will start to panic if we end up in the bottom 3 and not before.
3 points and better GD is still a position any of the bottom 3 would sooner have. [/quote]Bloody Nora, these post are doing some moving. It wasn’t that long back it 5 points and a game in hand.
Next it will be “If we can our last 3 games we might just get out bottom 3. We’ve creeped towards the bottom 3 game by game.
I never understand a manager who sets up a team to play for a draw. Not a very bright idea especially when you don’t score many and your defence aren’t the best. All’s I can say is, whoevers selling those rose tinted goggles on here must be absolutely loaded !
9 March 2019 at 1:32 am #176939I can’t see what Evans brings to the party. We need a proper ball-player in midfield. Also, not convinced it’s working playing James and Byrne together, while Windass was a No 9 for Rangers but we never seem to play him there. I’d go for:
J.lones
James Dunkley Kipre Robinson
Gibson Morsy
McManaman Powell Jacobs
Windass
9 March 2019 at 1:51 am #176940Macmanaman??? Would hope so but think Cooks been a disgrace the game time has given him and Powell??? …It’ll take 45 mins to unravel the cotton wool bale he’s in. Gibson….wouldn’t get near 1st team for me.
9 March 2019 at 1:53 am #176941I know what’s going to happen now, last game of the season, one game shoot out, Wigan, Millwall, what could possibly go wrong.

Just answer one question, are we in the relegation yet?. Er No so all ok yet, no rose tinted glasses just looking at the table and our current position, calm down lad!
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!9 March 2019 at 2:32 pm #176945I can’t see what Evans brings to the party. We need a proper ball-player in midfield. Also, not convinced it’s working playing James and Byrne together, while Windass was a No 9 for Rangers but we never seem to play him there. I’d go for:J.lones

Not far out Martin but Gibson is one of Cooks worst signings. He has played half of one decent game all season and has brought nothing at all to the side. Evans hasn’t been much better and Connolly too was hopeless. McDonald is glued to the West Stand. James is a right back and has still looked better in that position than any of our defensive midfielders including Sam.
Windass hasn’t been that outstanding but why not give him a chance at number nine but if he doesn’t get service he won’t do much either. -
