I think Donny means James back to RB which is why Byrne is benched.

      Jones

      James
      Kipre
      Dunkley
      Naismith

      Evans
      Morsy

      Pilkington
      Windass
      Jacobs

      Clarke

      Subs:
      Walton
      Byrne
      Olsson
      Powell
      Beni
      Massey
      Garner

Morsy Powell and Evans back. Who gets dropped?
Powell probably on bench because can’t see Windass being dropped. Bang em in too for Morsy then Evans for James and Byrne to the bench.

Because thier back doesn’t mean I meant they all get shoe horned in it just means the squads healthier and in a far better shape than it has been for the past few games.

I really don’t know why I had to explain myself with that one

I’m not sure he does, or it’s not clear:

“Bang em in too for Morsy” which I read as Beny Bangemine in for Morsy
” then Evans for James and Byrne to the bench.” which I read as, well, Evans for James, and Byrne to the bench.

        Donny> can you clarify please?

2 in 3 out would leave us with 10 though wouldn’t it?

He certainley wouldn’t want James left out, he’s about the only player he HASN’T slagged off this season.

Simple it was put James back in position so Byrne would have to be dropped.
Morsy would then take up James place.
Evans could replace the Everton lad.
Windarse couldn’t be dropped as he has started scoring.
Too right Horc like you James is probably the only player we haven’t slagged off. WE have both slagged the rest off deservedly from time to time.
In event only Morsy of the three returns tonight and we continue with players out of position all over the park.

Consider yourself lucky donny that you didn’t have to sit through that shite tonight, it was diabolical and as bad as anything I have seen all season.
We were devoid of any ideas going forward, and wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing now.
Stoke will be at a loss as to how they didn’t get three points tonight.

Dross…..huff and puff with absolutely zero end product. Clarke !….well no better than 1st time round.Leading the line, never won a header, lay off or flick on. Is he really the best we could muster up ???…..Reading win,so did Bolton and on the evidence of the last 2 games it really will be a close shave as to which league we play in next season. Please can anyone really see any positives after that against a really poor Stoke side ???

I am sure some will Derek and you’ll get another blasting for having an opinion otherwise.

And as a reward they’re all off spending some of the Grigg money on a nice trip to Dubai.
Who said we are skint and needed to sell him?
How many 25 quids does that jolly cost with all the hangers on and God knows how many of the squad?

Likewise donny, those who dare to have a positive opinion on things.

For the record, the only positives last night was the return of Powell & Massey. With Jacob’s getting a few games under his belt now, we were just missing ***** up front to complete the 4.

Lets put this into context, Stokes team;-

                        Butland £4 million
                        Allen £14 million
                        Batth £3 million
                        Ince £10 million
                        Afobe £12 million
                        Indi £7 million
                        Clucas £6 million
                        Vokes £7 million
                        Etebo £6.5 million
                        Woods £6.5 million
                        …………………
                        McClean £5 million
                        Bauer £5.5 million
                        Berahino £12.5 million
                        Bojan (reported) £5+ million

Closer on a £100 million pounds worth of players, a team who were up there as one of the favorites to go up. I know it doesn’t guarantee you success but it goes along way to helping you.
I might be wrong with this stat but I think the last time we spent over £2 million on a player (after Windass) was nearly 4 1/2 years ago on Delort and Forshaw

I thought we played well at times and defended very well with certain players making crucial tackles at the right time. It was all important we kept a clean sheet as I couldn’t see how we were ever going to score.

The 2nd half we played more of the game in their half and although both sides huffed and puffed a point was a fair result.

Clarke ? it just shows you how good Sheff Utd are at getting the ball to players in the right positions with Clarke and Sharp as opposed to wacking up in the air as we did last night to Clarke. If we played like Sheff Utd Grigg would still be here on 15-20 goals but we don’t and Clarke’s finding that out the hard way.

We need someone up front badly is it not worth giving Gelhardt 15 20 here and there ?? Come on Cook we can’t do any worse up front.

As a club with the purse strings closely guarded we have 2 choices, we can either:-

Bring some kids through and throw them in with the 1st team and the current squad of experienced players we have and allow them to grow and learn off them rather than trying to learn off other kids,
                        or
Keep bringing in aging players on the cheap and loans just to try and survive. I think most fans at Wigan will opt for the first option because simply because as a fan there’s nothing better to see someone play for the club who’s heart is in the right place and who has come through the ranks (like Flores) and he actually wants to be successful at Wigan and make a difference because it’s “HIS CLUB” and not his 21st.

For me football is all about loyalty and the passion that comes hand in hand. We all like to see players showing their emotions and their appreciation for the club and the wanting to play for Wigan but sadly this is something we and other clubs distinctly lack. Probably a few youngs players from the youth might just ignite this fire. I think the last I saw a player with this passion and the love for the club was Andy Liddell who for me truly looked like he enjoyed playing ands scoring for the club. The only problem for Liddell he came to the club to early and missed out on the golden years in the Prem.

I’ve said it all along, Cook will always side with age and experience and will not try youth. His age policy on players he signs “then plays” says it all. It’s as though he’s sh!tty pants scared of taking a chance on a kid. If your good enough age means jack sh1t
If were safe in the League I can see Cook bringing him on in the 89th against Millwall

I think you were watching a different player to me coz Clarke won virtually eveything in the air. I lost count of the number of times he flicked it on & there wasn’t a Latics player within 20 yards of him to be able to feed off it
Now that either means they can;t read that’s what he’s going to do, they’re told to stay deep & wide or Clarke can’t realise he needs to hold it up

Overall i thought our build up play was quite good but the end product was dreadful. The defence went in to panic mode all to often with the ball at their feet & all 4 were guilty of numerous scuffed & fluffed clearances

He says there’s a huge risk in bringing on young lads. Why do the club keep sending out all these positive messages about the academy with the annual report stating how us developing our own players is the way forward when since Flores was sent off at Oldham not one lad has been given a chance.
