Rubbish. Too many 30+, 6ft players and too much route one. Cook out his depth. Be 5 0 if Griggs played.

Perhaps the irony is lost when you call other posters trolls! ;)
Possibly filly. Amazing how things change though. Half the board weren’t goin on Thursday lol
Worth asking the question.
Did those of you who said you weren’t going again actually go?
Went today but I did comment I’ll see the season out my problem is work I’m a season ticket holder and that was my first game since West Brom at home in October so no I won’t be buying another season ticket and I blame IEC for selling Grigg.
I still think Grigg would score double figures in the Championship but we didn’t miss him today at all warming the bench.
Is there nobody you could give your season ticket to grumps? My sister has mine in my absence. I do understand your problem though. I have always said that if I can attend 10 – 12 home games a season, then I’m happy.

For the record, did VAT go?

We played well today up until cooks subs, was a bit bemused with them, and QPR were on top for last 15mins or so.
I’m no lover of Naismith, but his throughball to Jacobs for our second was brilliant. Had one of his better games today.
Shakey start for James in midfield but he grew into that role and was one of the star performers.

First impressions of New signings, cooks done good..

I agree with a lot of what has been said about the match, but a special mention should be made about Josh Windass after todays game.
He has come in for loads of stick recently and not just from me, but I thought he was outstanding today and if he carries on in this vein then it bodes well for the rest of the season.
Well done Josh Windass.

No,I didnt. Said I wasnt going, and I kept to it. Didnt actually miss going, but glad they won. Lad went with his grandad, I stayed at home with youngest who is poorly and been off school all week.

My next game will probably be the Belgrade Derby. Tasty.

Hope your lad gets well soon VAT. Shame you aren’t going again all because of the selling of 1 player. Which TBF is part & parcel of football.

On the subject of grigg, his transfer kind of reminds me of the time when keegan sold Cole to man utd. And Keegan was met by a horde of berated geordies.

Cheers. Going off some of the comments on some FB Latics pages, I wouldnt have been. the other one who didnt go. I am glad they won, but I think its going to put the club under a false sense of harmony regarding the fans forum. I can see it getting very heated, as clearly people arent happy.

Its not so much the sale, its how it was done. Lies…and done without any ambitious replacement brought in. The signings weve made are hardly inspiring, despite the result yesterday.

I get people using the financial balancing of the club as a reason for the sale, but the new owners have not backed the manager and he has had to go for loans and free agents.

Why exactly have they bought the club? To asset strip? For the stadium facility? Do they actually have any interest or ambition for Latics?

Apologies.

I was just gutted we were selling Grigg. I have calmed down now and rationalized that we had to make the decision, financially, if for nothing else. Good luck to Will Grigg. He has joined a big club with big expectation. Hope they get their moneys worth from him.

I know I wasnt the only one gutted. The new owners and co still have to convince me that they are going to lead us how we want them to lead us, but I guess only time will tell, eh? We can only stick at it and hope things pan out. Stay up this season and then reassess over the summer and plan for a better season next season.

Thanks

Well done Vatty, it takes a lot to come on and admit you were a little irrational but you had something to be mad about. He was many peoples fans favourites.
I would rather remember him now as a great striker and servant to the club rather than ‘somone not good enough’ or a ‘wantaway’as some were interpreting the way they saw him because he was leaving.
When 30,000 people are singing the song at The Stadium of Light theyll be singing our song.
To the new owners theyve re-couped around one sixth of what they payed for the whole club and infastructure so not a bad evening for the owners either. Browny points to the invisible man from them.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think it was ‘our song’. Am I right in saying that Newcastle were singing it about Mitrovic first? ;) ;)

Yes we did take it from Newcastle but we did make it known world wide. The Zutons made Valerie but Amy Winehouse is the one known for the song and it’s an inferior version.
Will Sunderland sing it if that’s its roots as a chant.

We all were (well most) gutted at selling grigg. Especially the time when it happened.

I hope we stay up too & build on next season.

Well done VAT on your return. Knew you wouldn’t be able to stay away. It’s quite addictive supporting latics.

Regarding the the Rotherham game, I’d say it was a good point but, why tf did most feckin decide just to hoof it clear when we were in and around our box ??. At times a simple pass left right middle would do.

Overall it was a below average performance by both teams with a makeshift Wigan midfield that at times looked totally lost for ideas.

3points needed badly tonight to keep the distance. A Reading win tonight and any kind of a slip up on our part will keep us in the relegation mix for that bit longer.
Reading play Rotherham on the 23rd and with us still to face Reading away there’s still an awful lot to play for.
Morsey Evans and Powell hopefully back tonight might just make the difference, we hope

Morsy Powell and Evans back. Who gets dropped?
Powell probably on bench because can’t see Windass being dropped. Bang em in too for Morsy then Evans for James and Byrne to the bench.
