You really think that Mendy is a better right-back than Boyce? I can’t agree. Think back to when Boyce first came to Wigan, for me he was sh1t-hot at right-back and it was only because of his versatility that he was converted to centre-back (and of course Mario’s arrival).
Either way I’d be yellow watered off if I was Boyce and a player of the calibre of Mendy came in and took a place in the team that should be (in terms of availability and quality) mine.
It could all be rhetoric anyway as I fear Boyce could be done for in the summer as Martinez seems to favour others ahead of him.

Yeah I think Mendy is better. I don’t think Boyce was sh1t-hot when he came and don’t think he has EVER been anything special…all I can say about Boyce is that he will do if we can’t find a replacement and that it is not our MAIN priority.
Personally i think Caldwell is awful he’s too slow and gets bossed in the air. Hes a good pressence 2 have and we look more solid and organsied with him there. But i dont think hes the complete centre half we need. Prefer Boyce playing cb with him
I’d have to agree that it isn’t a priority (Could be construed as damning Boyce with faint praise) however disagree that Mendy is better than Boyce so I suppose that were halfway there. :|

Would like to see both Mendy and Boyd come in. Mendy has always looked good and looked pacey when he played at our place. Boyd has scored goals season after season for Rangers and Jockland although cant see him coming here

Bang on griff! Whilst Hugo has played out of position for most of the season he still has not shown enough to warrant anywhere near that figure. 6 or 7m, yes, but no more than that IMHO.
If we do get 15m I would throw the lot on two decent prem strikers e.g. Kevin Davies from Noblot andr Kevin Doyle from Wolves. Coyle and McCarthy would snatch your hand off for 7.5m for each of those.
