Lets hope the lads who can’t get a game at our relegation rivals do the job for us.
29 January 2015 at 4:06 pm #138888Austin been playing regular past few weeks
29 January 2015 at 4:09 pm #138889Is he an attacking midfielder ? Boy we would do with one or two of those ..
29 January 2015 at 4:12 pm #138891Lets hope the lads who can’t get a game at our relegation rivals do the job for us.Shaun Maloney couldn’t get a game for his in his first six months.
Scott Sinclair didn’t get a game for us at all and then ended up being Swansea’s player of the year and signing for City.
Patrick Van Aanholt couldn’t get a game but is doing well at Sunderland.
Things work at some clubs for some players and not others. Take Delort and Riera for example.
IF we do go down with these players then you can come on here and claim you were right all along and DW f*cked up etc etc but let’s at least give Malky the chance to get HIS players in and pick HIS team. At the minute he has a bunch of cast offs from the previous Manager who failed miserably in the transfer market.
29 January 2015 at 4:38 pm #138892Lets hope the lads who can’t get a game at our relegation rivals do the job for us.Jason Pearce with 99 league games for Leeds. Any chance a tight chairman doesn’t want to pay add-ons once he reaches 100 games? It has been seen before.
He has been captain at most clubs he has been at.
It will do us no harm to have a leader at the back ;)29 January 2015 at 4:51 pm #138895Lets hope the lads who can’t get a game at our relegation rivals do the job for us.

A new partner at the back with Ridgewell surely can’t make us weaker.29 January 2015 at 5:16 pm #138896“There’s been a lot of interest in Callum over the last few weeks, but I have made it clear that we need a squad of hungry players who are 100% focused and committed to the job here. There comes a point where you have to do what’s best in terms of the player progressing in his career and what is financially the most beneficial for the club.
a bit more interesting
Yep. He said similar about Maloney as well.[/quote]
Callum & Maloney were probably up there with our biggest earners which is why we’ve let them go. Wouldn’t surprise me if that freed up 30-40k a week?
29 January 2015 at 5:24 pm #138897Nobody will be on that at Wigan. Maybe in the PL but not the Championship.
29 January 2015 at 5:27 pm #138898Nobody will be on that at Wigan. Maybe in the PL but not the Championship. That figure was meant as a combined weekly wage for the both of them. 15k – 20k a week wont be too far away considering both these were with us in the prem. I assume they would still have the prem contracts even though we are in the Championship (for now).
29 January 2015 at 5:28 pm #138899Lets hope the lads who can’t get a game at our relegation rivals do the job for us.With that notion in mind, it’s no great loss letting players go that got us to second bottom and eight points adrift at the end of January

I get you.
Most contracts had relegation clauses in them. Even the Stadium staff were on contracts that reduced their wage if we were ever relegated.
29 January 2015 at 5:40 pm #138901Anyone think the reason for this dramatic loss in form by players could be money related ie last season they could have still been on some sort of incentive to get promoted at the first attempt and now that incentive has been withdrawn due to the decrease in parachute payments and income to the club ?

If that’s the case, with what I hear D. Whelan pays his stadium staff, the poor fuckers will be doing it as voluntary work if we go down again this year.

Don’t think it relates to the concourse and waiting staff, but it does to the office staff and groundsmen etc
